From Headless Cross car park after having visited main top. Good path to summit area and in winter Bracken is no problem and we’ll trodden. Assumed stone / rock was probably at HP.PeterD09/02/2023
Solo. From Mardon Down. Bracken battle. Might be one to save for winter.MickyRoss04/08/2022
Bonus Tump from Headless Cross. We'd have done this and the SMa as a single walk if we'd known how easy parking on the common is. Local dogwalkers on hill, using the grassy tracks and a path through the bracken but we needed a bit of careful (we'd seen an adder earlier) bracken bashing to reach the HP. With Pete, we were on the last day of our holiday and driving back to Warwick: the lane via SX 7788 was a bad start but both car and driver's nerves happily unscathed.pwheeler16/06/2022
Run up from headless cross. Went up path through bracken. Realised I took wrong path so ploughed through head high bracken gorse and brambles to the summit and another wide path.isabelle09/08/2020
Nice walk along wide tracks through the bracken.clivevilla22/06/2020
From Headless Cross with MAE. Went E and SSE by the marked bridleways, then on faint paths to the summit. Returned NW by a good path which met the first bridleway just east of the junction - a better route.David Purchase04/10/2019
On BW from NW. Beware approach road from NE along NW edge Mardon Down - leads (NE) to hairpin and very dilapidated road surfacecarole engel27/06/2018

5 tump walk from Morternhampstead on a hot day with Lesley and Flook the dog. Linked footpaths and narrow Devon lanes on a circular walk. A lucky cut track through the ocean of bracken skimmed the summit. Sent Flook the dog in first in an attempt to make an 'elephant track' for the last 20 feet of bracken fight as seen in its full summer glory in the summit photo.Chris Pearson15/08/2016

Large parking area to the north west. Here a track follows the wall east. At the end of the wall either follow the smaller path through the bracken directly to the top or the large path tracking the wall before turning off to the summit along another wide, easy to follow line.moorsman19/08/2014
From NW, common land. Undefined summit of sparse gorse and bracken.RHW12/04/2014
