Watching the planes trying to land at the nearby airport in high winds was entertaining. Not all of them managed it first time around. | summitter | 13/01/2023 |
After Carn Brea from the NT car park with J on a sunny day to compare the views from both hills. (Carn Brea is better.) After 100m on path, took left fork leading to gate & an open field. Continued NE following vehicle track to SW corner of summit enclosure, through nearby gate & followed track E parallel to wall for a short distance then obvious path to trig. Notices about cattle grazing. None actually seen but they were very certainly heard! Varied the return by following one of the paths leading across the gorse & heather to reach the ROW on Tredinney Common. Observed 2 kestrels hunting for food. | NotReallyABagger | 16/09/2022 |

We parked at the Carn Brea car park. Easily ascended Carn Brea then headed across road, we took the first track left which would usually lead you up hill easily but after the monsoon conditions of last night the entire track was flooded with no way around. We turned back and followed a very wet sheep trod across the moor then joined another track which got a bit gorsy but took us fairly easily up hill to summit. Good views on top with several of the Scilly Isles visible on the horizon. Then we retuned to the car park. Afterwards we headed to Cape Cornwall. | DanTrig | 21/10/2021 |
From Carn Brea. (NTS CP). With Claire & Ellie. When path forks after 100m, take left one almost to the top through common ground. Then a thin path to the top through the heather. | MickyRoss | 09/07/2021 |
11 years to the day since we last came up here. We walked up from Little Kelynack near the airport, via Numphra Common. The prehistoric summit enclosure is quite overgrown with gorse, but the paths are clear an easily passable. Terrific views on a perfect day of clear blue skies. We dropped down to Carn Euny, then on to Brane, Boscawen-un stone circle and finished at Sancreed. | thesweetcheat | 22/06/2019 |
From car park to SW and after Carn Brea. RoW initially then veered off left on a farm track. HP looks to be approx 5m SE of trig pillar. | jonglew | 19/10/2018 |

Midsummer dawn ascent SE from Roselands campsite. Cloud cleared to give a perfect sunrise - a red disc of light appeared slowly over the horizon as birdsong increased. Flattish summit area covered in gorse but path through. Trig. Small stone lined well c 5m NW of trig. HP small bank of earth c 5 m from trig. | Denise | 21/06/2017 |
Ran up from the carpark to the south. Heather and gorse in full flower and looking lovely in the morning sun. | Herbert Anchovy | 26/08/2016 |
