From Alwhat in dreadful conditions of wind, rain and thick cloud. Descended to Spout Burn and followed it down past some waterfalls in the mature forest until I reached the forest road. Gravel road all the way back to the van in the car park by Holm of Dalquhairn Bridge. Solo.Dangerous Dave09/10/2022
Half way point on round of Grahams/Donalds around Afton Reservoir. Would be easy to miss high point on this one in misty conditions as its about 30m behind the high point on the corner of the fence line and a very small cairn marks the spot.Jossker14/05/2022

Round of six Donalds from Glen Afton - Blackcraig, Blacklorg, Meikledodd, Alwhat, Alhang, Windy Standard - back using wind farm tracksColin Crawford22/05/2021
I headed down to East Ayrshire today, aiming for the four Donalds around the Afton Reservoir, south of New Cummock. Parking at Blackcraig Farm (about 3km north of the dam), I headed up the track to Quintin Knowe and up a boggy ATV track to Blackcraig Hill (700m) a Graham and Donald. Then in a clockwise motion around the Afton Reservoir, following boggy ATV tracks, I bagged the Donald of Blacklorg Hill (681m), two Donald Tops of Meikledodd Hill (643m) & Alwaht (628m) and ending on the Donald of Alhang (642m). The plan had been to head west for Windy Standard, a Graham and Donald, but I was tired and didn’t fancy the descent then re-ascent required, so I followed the Afton Water north to the Reservoir. At the north end of the reservoir, I bumped into the farmer, who gave me a lift back down the glen to my car, saving me approx. 3km of a hike. It was generally dry all day, with small patches of snow already lying. With the farmer’s assistance this took 05:55hrs all in.chillyman805/05/2021

4th top of 11 on a 29km Eastern Circuit from the Glen Afton road, climbing Craigbraneoch, Cannock Hill and Alwhat continuing Sw on fenceline then a short way South to the top. I would head back about 45 mins later looking for my map case only to find it on the descent at the foot of Ewe Hill North top! I descended Ene to cross the burn heading for Ewe Hill North top...Dazingdale23/09/2019

On the way from Blacklorg round to Windy Standard following fence line. More of a trod on this one although rather wet after recent rain. Easy enough due to fence line in the mist. Finally a view over to some of Windy Standard where a farmer was working his sheep.nickywood119/08/2018
