Turn West off the A 3074 at the Cornish Arms pub, then go immediately left up a narrow unpromising looking road to eventually reach a small lay by and gate to Steeple Woodland reserve with further parking c 100m further. From the latter, this amazing, triangular, granite 15 m high monument is easily found. Built by a mayor/ customs officer for St Ives with a view to burial there but in fact buried in London. He endowed a strange 5 yearly procession involving 10 maidens in white dresses which continues- next one 2021.HP is natural rock at SE corner of monument.Denise 20/06/2017
