Logged Descriptions  (logged by 5 users)ByDate of Ascent
On the drive back to Lostwithiel for tea and Easter hot cross buns. A 5 min field walk from gate pull in whilst L read a knitting mag picked up in Fowey book swap kiosk; after enjoying a Good Friday mini heatwave and much sea glare on a 10km 5hr leisurely coastal walk from Fowey around Gribbin Head (a new P20 just) with many stops for Cornish pasties, ice creams, drinks & beachcombing. A famous 7 adventure with me & L and friends John, Rebecca, Lexi, Bethan & Amelia. Appropriate that we had a Rebecca in the party for this is Du Maurier country and after climbing back up from the sun trap sandy beach of Polkeris we even went passed the gates of Manderley (real name Menabilly). Much reminiscing of the iconic 1938 Rebecca book and film -originally by Hitchcock. The novel is remembered especially for the character Mrs Danvers, the West Country estate Manderley, and its opening line: Last night, I dreamt I went to Manderley again.Chris Pearson07/04/2023

Indistinct point on grassy domed field. Nice Hazy sea views. A locked ROC bunker is located on the N side of the field.Denise 17/12/2016
Field of grass with levelish top. Access from gate at SW corner. Good views. Castle Dore Iron age fort to S is very well preserved and worth a visit.RichardM17/12/2016
