Aonach Eagach from E to W, finishing just east of Glencoe village. Perhaps not as scary as it's made out but the pinnacles seemed endless and made for a long strenuous day.TRG31831/05/2023

Sgorr nam Fionnaidh and Stob Coire Leith from the forestry car park between Glencoe Village and the Clachaig Inn. A steady, stony ascent to the glorious ridge, with views opening out at all stages. The ridge as far as SCL is easy yet exhilarating. On return, I went a short distance further along the ridge to the west summit of SnF for the views over Lochs Leven and Linnhe.Nick Down122/08/2022

The superb Aonach Eagach traverse from East to West in sunny weather with Richard W and Richard M. With relatively little descent and ascent from Stob Coire Leith along a wide grassy ridge. Damaged trig on top within windshelter. Last peak of the day and descended to second car at free Forestry car park at NN108558. The unmapped descent path goes west to end of ridge, then drops steeply NW to join the Allt a Mhuillinn at 300m, then keeps south of the river, past the dam before crossing it at c 50m and joining the road at NN 112584. It's then c500m NW back to Forestry carpark.Denise 13/09/2021

With George and Rowan. Bit scary with the steep drops, climbs and at times knee trembling exposure. My first two Munros in the bag!! Finished our day with a couple of beers in the Clachaig Inn and a wild swim in the river. A memorable day.catriona29/08/2021

Started at layby west of Allt-na-reigh, up Am Bodach, Meall Dearg, across the Aonach Eagach ridge, Stob Coire Lieth then Short nan Fiannaidh, descending alongside Allt nan t-Sidhein to the layby opposite the Clachaig junction. From Old Glencoe Road (NN 10658 58792). Followed the Pap of Glencoe path and then headed east along a clear path at NN 12363 58605. Lower sections muddy and badly eroded in places, lots of loose scree in the upper sections. Low cloud so no view from the summit except seeing a herd of wild goats! Returned via the same route.david23020122/08/2018

2nd time up the Gach! Weather was perfect - warm and not a cloud in the sky. Did with Paul,Adam and Mark. Cracking day out - nobody struggled. Really enjoyed this one. This time we descended to the NW ending up on the road about 2K up from the Clachaig - definitely the best descent option.scholesy03/06/2016
The last of 6 Munros in 4 days. Climbed from Glencoe Independent Hostel. Went with full winter kit but needed sun tan lotion and shorts. Got to love Scottish weather in March. Absolutely stunning views of Ben Nevis to one side and the Aonach Eagach ridge to the other. Mind-blowing. Started at 8.45am. Back down by 3pm for a cuppa in the glorious sunshine.liljonb16/03/2016

Anonach Eagach - with Rach. Weather was very good, windy and wet to begin but clearing as we reaches the top. Great ridge walk with some technical scrambling. Climbing down some of the rocks proving the most difficult bit. Great Day!scholesy29/09/2012
Anonach Eagach - amazing walk. First time I've done a ridge walk or proper scrambling and whilst it was doable there was a sustained stretch of scrambling which as a beginner required lots of concentration. That being said, thoroughly enjoyable and defo recommend to the adventurous walker.Rachel29/09/2012
Leader of 9 teenagers, 2 other adults (Tim Brook & Mike Strickland), after China trip, after which I flew London - Edinburgh & met one pupil & drove to where others were camping at Inverarnan; this day we drove 2 minibuses, left one at Clachaig, drove up to E end of Aon Eag. Lovely day, bright and dry and mild. Great route but the descent down the eroded Clachaig Gully a nightmare. Then had cold drinks and drove to Ft Wm for fish & chips then to Shiel Bridge to camp!NorfolkPT2120/07/2012

Unfortunately arrived with newly broken arm (left ulna) thanks to trip on easy ground near other Munro; a careless catching of a crampon point on a rock and a pitch forward into the snow. Fortunately this was just at the end of all the technical difficulties.signyred19/02/2006

Done solo while staying in holiday cottages in Glencoe for the Millenium. Everyone else was probably still too hungover from that night in the Clachaig, so I went up on my own intending a rather ambitious crossing of the Aonach Eagach W to E. Got on to Sgorr nam Fiannaidh & started along the ridge before realising that it was far too icy to continue on my own even with axe & crampons. So retreated & wandered over to the Pap instead. One of my brighter ideas - a wonderful late afternoon view & then a descent above the Allt a' Mhuilinn to the track leading to the road. When I got back to the accommodation, the others were already back in the Clachaig.NotReallyABagger02/01/2000

A grand ridge walk from Stob Coire Leith- E to W in 1990, W to E in 1981, but of course it is Aonach Eagach E of Stob Coire Leith that is the real attraction. A beautiful winter day in perfect winter conditions. Wild camping outside the Clachaig. Left quite late and hitched to start. The only way we were going to have time was to travel fast and so left the rope behind. All sent to clockwork. Descended due south from the final Munro. With John H in perfect calm and sunny weather. Back up again after being blown back and soaked yesterday. Great views - a nice airy ridge walk after this peak to Stob Coire Leith before the rocky scrambling fun of the ridge proper began -not too difficult but some big exposure in places.Chris Pearson14/10/1984
Cloud and rain -why did we set off ? However we enjoyed the scramble up alongside the Clachaig Gully but on the ridge turned back in rain and severe wind gusts, one of which sent John sprinting across the rocks until he flung himself down, cutting his knee.Slow descent same way then feeble attempt to dry out in a bunkhouse - then The Clachaig which was packed on a Sat night.Chris Pearson13/10/1984

With party from Onich CHA Guest House. A+ (and A and B) parties walked to Ballachulish Ferry, crossed ferry and went by coach up Glen Coe. A+ party (including me) alighted at the start of the path to Am Bodach. This path was taken. At the top of Am Bodach three of the party retired, leaving only one other A+ member apart from myself and the leader. Also present were 4 others, not down originally as A+ but very good. The weather was thick mist and there was a lot of rain. The mist cleared for about 2 min on top. We went along the Chancellor Ridge to Meall Dearg and along the Aonach Eagach ridge to Sgòr nam Fiannaidh. Care was taken because of the wet rocks. Some tremendous views were obtained of Loch Leven and Loch Linnhe and the hills of Ardgour on the descent to Glencoe Village. Tea was had at the Glencoe tea rooms.pwbellarby04/09/1970

The party comprised two older Rovers (Iain L and Brian J) and three Venture Scouts (Mike G, John F and myself). During the ascent from the road to the ridge I was hit by stomach pains which Mike diagnosed as a lack of food or energy. The restorative effects of the handful of raisins which he gave me were somewhat tempered by an after taste of paraffin. When we were moving roped together the instructions were that if one member of the party slipped off the ridge then we were to jump off the opposite side of the ridge! Fortunately, this theory was never tested. When tackling the pinnacles or towers along the ridge we moved one at a time in a series of pitches with each climber belayed by someone. We camped in Glencoe and drank in The Clachaig.langskill09/03/1968

Started at GR NN 11095 58585 and followed the well eroded path to the bealach at the base of Pap of Glencoe (which I had intended doing on the way back) and then up to Sgorr nam Fiannaidh. Back down the 'proper path' which rejoined the main path lower than the Pap so headed straight back down. Incredible views at the top today.tsharpblank
