Easy paddle from Meadfoot and decent landing on SE slabs in 1ft swell just before high tide. HP slanting limestone block. Nosed into big cave at N end and looked at Leadstone on way back but didn't land. Good time to visit with birds long since fledged, a few loafing around; no seals. | RHW | 30/09/2018 |

Kayaked out from Meadfoot bay ( free parking in layby) on perfect still warm sunny day. Landed easily on flattish barnacled limestone on south east side. Very short easy walk on rocks then through soft vegetation to obvious outcropping pinnacle and very easy scramble to summit. No birds nests visible, a few birds gulls, cormorants) about, slight smell of guano but not too messy. Returned via Thatcher's Rock. | Denise | 07/04/2017 |
By sit on canoe from Meadfoot beach. Superb day of cloudless blue skies, easterly breeze and only a gentle ripple on the sea. Easy landing on viscously sharp rocks in sheltered rocky cove at SE tip of island then easily up limestone rib to summit area vegetated with soft plants - Scurvy Grass and a plant with velvety Geranium shaped leaves. High point an easily gained rock outcrop. | RichardM | 07/04/2017 |
Not ticked. Jon Adrian and I hired kayaks out of Oddicombe, tough paddle with a gusty SW breeze. Thatchers OK landing E side with some scrambling low down. Ore - Jon landed with his single kayak but too much swell to get the double ashore we decided. Much less steep than the landward side. | RHW | 10/07/2016 |
With Rob W and Adrian. From Thatchers Rock. Easyish 1.2k paddle with following stiff southwesterly. Big waves on arrival at favoured E side landing point, out of the question. Paddled round to leeward side. Landed on shelving rock (SX 9572 6297), big swell hampered efforts but ultimately successful in single kayak; Adrian and Rob not able to land in larger, heavier 2-man kayak. Easy rock face to overcome, then up to summit on good stable rock. Re-entering water fun! Return 5k paddle to Oddicombe tiring. | jonglew | 10/07/2016 |
