Parked in Dead Woman's Ditch, headed up to Dowsborough, doubled back and went out to Black Hill and Hurley Beacon before heading out past Fire Beacon, Great Hill Cairn, Wills Neck and Lydeard Hill before making a loop and coming back through Great Wood dodging MTB riders. Didn't realise I could have carried on to Cothelstone Hill and Broomfield Hill, had the legs to do the lot today but will have to come back (not that I need an excuse!)lboutside25/02/2023

Nice when the sun came out but cold wind from the northeast. Saw a Green Woodpecker near the summit of Black Hill. There were a few Meadow Pipits about. I nearly got run over by a large herd of Red Deer in the woods above Holford. Took me 1 hour 20 minutes for 7.65 miles.isabelle03/02/2018

Small pull-in available at point 252 on the map (approx). 10m west a small track starts which avoids the road walking and takes you safely up to the main track. Cross the wall, turn right uphill and left at the junction to the summit.moorsman27/06/2016
