From the Closed toilet car park, which wierdly registers as Beautiful Place on Google Maps. Cross the road and wire fence with no stile, then over bridge and upwards.Hirta22/09/2023

2/4 Black Meldon from the Toilet Block, back down and then White Meldon, Hamilton Hill and South Head Hill as a nice circuit on other side of the road. A pretty Glen lots of campers and a lot of rubbish unfortunately people not bothering to tidy up.nickywood104/09/2023
Similar to Alan Caine. Shocking litter and human waste mess just above old toilet block, despite good council bin provision. Plus a campfire left still burning.willyross07/07/2023
From parking at the toilet block. Steady 50 minutes return.Alan Caine25/06/2023
From grass parking 100 yards S of old toilet block. Easy paths up both White and Black Meldon, although the stile with barbed wire giving access to the bracken forest on Black Meldon requires care. On to the West Top of Black Meldon, with a small cairn near its summit. Enjoyable walking over atmospheric summits with good views.Nick Down118/06/2023
Usual route from the parking area by the closed toilets. Over the low fence and footbridge, then followed various paths through the grass and short heather to the obvious summit.Owen B30/04/2023
A round trip from the old public toilets west of White Meldon to South Hill Head and over to Black Meldon and its SW top. Easy walking.sclater16/03/2023
Plenty of parking by the old public toilets. Footbridge across the road, then track to summit. Solo.Dangerous Dave27/12/2022
From the old toilet block, as others (NT 2124 4285). Good snow covered track through dying bracken. On to Hamilton Hill and South Head Hill for a modest 6.3k round.jonglew10/12/2022
Solo. From toilet block parking. The direct path becomes indistinct so is difficult to see from above and reverse. Good little hill.Nick Canute27/09/2022
As others - direct from old toilet block to west. Easy 40 minutes return.Crib Goch29/08/2022

From Peebles. Up Cross Borders Drove Road across Hamilton Hill, then South Hill Head and Clock Knowe before short descent and climb to White Meldon. Then down SW to road to Lyne Station and along River Tweed back to Peebles.the pigguy 19/03/2022

Parked by old toilet block at NT 2124 4284 - Over footbridge opposite & straight up; well-worn path for much of the way. (S)gerrybowes06/06/2021
From car park at NT 21251 42827. Up White Meldon. Then across to South Hill Head and Hamilton Hill. North up the Cross Borders Drove Road to the road then back along road/forest track with an ascent of Black Meldon to round off the day.Fife Walking13/05/2021

From the car park a little further away from the toilet block area, a lovely walk up to great views, met no one going up or down.mazz02/10/2020
With Kate. From car park by toilets (11:40), over bridge and steeply up path to summit. Weather lovely, good views. In search of gentler descent went S down ridge and then down gentler slopes towards the valley looking for a traverse line through the bracken back to the bridge. But good line not found and bracken-bashing was required. Not a good alternative route.dbb01/10/2020
From car park at NN210417. Short climb through bracken then followed farm track to summit. Beautiful late afternoon viewsRamblingpaul17/09/2020
Straight up from old toilet block (roadside camping right up the glen in huge numbers). Came off north just to create a circuit - hardly worth it.SS08/08/2020
14:00, 15 degrees, sun, cloud, westerlies at on lane 271 to NE. Via drover's road and Peat Knowe with Bag For Life, Steve, Becca and Freya. On to South Head Hill.Wycombe Wanderer18/07/2020
Parked at the entrance to Nether Stewarton wood, plenty of spaces, 1km north of the hill,216438. Then a simple climb through thick heather and up grassy runners to the top.Simon Winton10/01/2020
4 of 4: From the closed toilet block on the minor road at 212429. There and back in 35 mins inc 5 mins at the top. 4.00pm so not much daylight left. Karen waited in the car.ChrisR16/11/2019

Parked at toilet block. 15CM of snow lying but could see track for half way up then just avoiding heather and final section on easier ground to cairn and onto trig No views. 50 minutesCoinneach03/04/2019
A nice hill. Parked at the disused toilet block, over the bridge and steeply up dry, grassy/mossy sheep tracks through the heather to join a nastier quad bike track. This disappears off in the wrong direction at a mossy shelf, and it's a nice climb thereafter on grass/moss past a low rocky outcrop and onwards to a large cairn, then across a dip to the trig.Gill20/01/2019
Second of two Peebles Marilyns on a 'rest' day during New Year trip with Shaky & Smithy. From the toilet block, got blown up the W flank by a very strong wind.NotReallyABagger31/12/2018
Clear and cold. Good visibility and views and with the bracken dead for the winter clear sight of the various Iron Age forts.Roblex03/12/2018
From the road that runs through the valley. Up the moor from the northern end. Parking at NT 217439 where there are 2 stiles to cross the fences on to the moorland. Operated ham radio for SOTA from the summit.G4OBK (Phil)26/10/2018
I couldn't resist a late evening ascent whilst camping belowColin Crawford18/06/2018
From toilet block (closed). Over burn (bridge), follow well worn trod through heather to summit. High cloud, windy and good views.iangalbraith12/10/2017
From minor road just north of Meldon Cottage...plenty parking, quick hop over river then up the path/track crossing the hill, them up final ridge to the old fort summit. Clear, but showers to the east, splendid rainbowN.Morters30/09/2017
Good parking at 212428. A 40 minute return pleasant walk on good terrain and in good weather after the earlier rain. Solo.bolton21/09/2017

Across small bridge by former toilet block, then straight up and down west flank. Traces of path all the way. Sunny with good views but windy.Winterfloodian30/04/2017
Lots of parking at NT212 428. Easy, but kept losing path up and down. Great view of round settlement from above.Jhimmy26/03/2017
I used to cycle out from Peebles to do this one in the 60's. This was the first time logging it. Very windy but still a great view point. There's supposedly a large cross on it's north side which only shows up in snowy conditions. No snow today so no cross.BigJ03/01/2017
Very pleasant walk from the Herehope Burn bridgem0jla31/05/2016
