Bagged whilst walking the Hardy Way from Wimborne Minster to Cranborne. Badbury Rings, Chalbury Hill and Colehill. The pretty church was enhanced by observation of the ruddy faced vicar carrying his bicycle up the steps for Sunday service. He seemed a jolly chap. Also visited the reservoir. | PhilipChaston | 25/06/2023 |
Delightful church with adjacent vegetated bank and covered reservoir. Hard to say where the HP is but great views from church, probably HP, on sunny autumnal day. Walked from Hinton Martell but could easily park by reservoir. Cut mark on corner of church. Destroyed trig. | Denise | 20/11/2022 |
Ground by the church is good contender for the high point and has great views S. Also visited top of covered reservoir. | RichardM | 20/11/2022 |
Drove up to Chalbury in the evening, easy walk to the church at the top of the hill, had a lovely conversation with a local who works at the Church. A great and friendly hill to visit. | DavidHiner | 13/09/2022 |
Parked in Witchampton, crossed main road and walked up gentle incline to the hilltop. Nice surrounding views of East Dorset | matt98p | 30/08/2022 |
Sutton Holmes to Three Legged Cross. Apart from occasional views towards the New Forest, a rather mundane hill area. HPs @ chapel & reservoir both feature altered terrain. | Smudge | 15/10/2021 |

Car park space for the church. Over gate to top of reservoir then i walked around the church which looked more natural. | fosal29 | 02/02/2020 |
Lovely old churchyard | GordonAdshead | 10/01/2020 |
Worth adding a visit to the adjacent old chapel and ALSO 1 km away to Horton Tower a 270 year old brick folly, once said to be the tallest non religious building in Britain. It looks rather like a brick version of a Saturn V rocket with its booster tanks.Has recently been repaired by vodaphone who have used it for attaching aerials to it, giving it a purpose at last. In July 2020 the Gaurdian published a night photo of Comet Neowise above the tower -a nice choice of foreground as it may have been built as an observatory / folly. | Chris Pearson | 24/03/2019 |
Waypointed top of covered resr near control building which seems to be roughly at natural highpoint. Nice tranquil village location | RHW | 03/10/2015 |
Reservoir top. | vegibagger | 20/01/2015 |
Not much to see here. Unsure exactly where the hill top is, probably on top of the covered reservoir (although maybe doesn't count being man-made), so not able to supply a GR. Covered reservoir extension has seen loss of the trig pillar that was here. | jonglew | 13/02/2014 |
