Beautiful view waterfall on initial ascent. River too high to cross safely until near the Loch (had to take boots off and wade), then went cross-country to get back to path beside fence. Straight forward walk up from there with good 360 views from top. Went back to car park via Nether Tarnberry to avoid crossing river again, followed fence line down but was still extremely steep with no trodden path. Very hard work on ankles and knees, not recommended!Eliza10012/08/2019

Solo from P at Gray Mare's Tail up path to beyond Fall head, crossing Tail Burn and following wall W almost to summit cairn. Left SW to head to Carrifran Gans. Beautiful morning of blue skies and sunshine with only a slight E wind. First visit was also solo whilst pursuing Corbetts on 24/03/2004 when the same route was used for both up and down.jacobus29/04/2019

Grey mares Tail car park turn off well before Loch Skeen to cross the Burn and proceed to summit following a broken wall. Noted the helpful zig-zag section about half way across to the summit which has been stepped outG4OBK (Phil)02/01/2019

The Hart Fell heart-shaped horseshoe to White Coomb. Started at Blackhope, up to Swatte Fell then Hart Fell, Under Saddle Yoke & White Coomb then back to the start. Included the Donald tops en route during the long, tough and often pathless hike but it was still a grand day out with good views.Chris Mac22/09/2018
