Passed by following the Ridgeway - close enough to bag, and without going up what I assume is the farm drive.ewangibb8714/10/2023

It felt like a bit of a cheat but as the byway is open to traffic Apr -Oct I drove from the car parking on Rectory Lane and parked in a field gateway just past Warren Farm. Feeling adventurous I continued on in the car around to Starveall which was a tight and had a couple of awkward bits for my SEAT Alhambra; but doable. If you are walking there is also good parking on the byway just past Starveall.DC11main11/07/2021

Great views from level track at entrance to Warren Farm. Adjacent field appeared lower. Permission given by owner dealing with fallen tree. Breezy and cool albeit with brief sunny spell after shower.Denise 17/02/2020
From Compton. Met owner at start of farm track clearing wind felled branch, lent a hand so he must have felt obliged to let us visit the high point when we asked. All very level but track slightly higher than surrounding ground. Owner was quite proud of his high point telling us we could see 5 Counties from here. Then onto the competing Lowbury Hill.RichardM17/02/2020

Kilometre walk north from the tump summit and to the trig pillar S5724 just 1m lower than the very big ultra flat area. Two cows had the courage to lick my hand.vegibagger20/10/2018
2nd and final tump on Stage 4 of the Ridgeway walk with Lesley veering off to climb Lattin Down en-route then this one. High reading encountered on the Ridgeway Trail and also on track as per summit Grid ref. I checked the field also and an adjacent field to the Ridgeway but no higher readings obtained. Continuing on the Ridgeway to Streatley to finish at Goring station for a train to Reading where we had accommodation booked.Dazingdale25/09/2018

A walk up from Streatley and return having walked from Pangbourne. A steady ascent and easy return. As ever a fairly flat top and a lot of water. Walked on further which felt as if I were still going up but difficult to be sure with no technology.Sixtyplus21/02/2017

40 min night walk in dark up and back on Ridgeway LDP from east -enough night vision on white chalk track so no torch needed despite 10pm time. Car radio announces only 2 hours remaining before 'legal highs' become illegal at midnight. Is hill bagging a legal high at risk ?Chris Pearson25/05/2016

Parked to South a short way beyond Starveall. Sign said no vehicles 1st Oct- 30th April. If I came next day will there be lots of cars and bikes on the track? Easy ascent on by-ways. Went into field for HP, knowing I will have walked right by in 1985 on Ridgeway walk. My last WB tump. Also walked over to Lowbury HillPeterD30/04/2016

Drove up lane from Aldworth to the SE. Sign said no cars between 1Oct and 31 Mar, so continued on to park at Ridge Way junction 500m NW of Starveall. Felt a bit foolish as I was turning round the car to park, just as about 40 Wednesday Walkers arrived walking down the hill. Crossed under the electric fence at the hp of the RWay and walked a little way into the top field containing cows.GordonAdshead30/09/2015
