Walked up bridleway through woods from road to south- parking near car repair yard just to the north of the A3, Compton/ Puttenham exit. Natural HP uncertain but somewhere south of A31 Hog’s Back road, possibly earth embankment in scrubby woodland very close to road. In darkness as en route to boat in Portsmouth after my mother’s 85th birthday lunch and needed a walk!Denise 16/01/2022
From the S via Wansborough Common. The A31 appears to cross the summit but also visited the low man-made ridge of chalk/soil in the woods on S side of road.RichardM16/01/2022
Parked in layby bus stop just W of summit (this is the second bus stop after joining A31). Walked back, and over fence to summit. Traffic fairly quiet: early Sunday morning.PGCE11/04/2021

Parked in the car park at Puttenham and walked east along the Norths Downs Way before heading up to the ridge from the south on the bridleway. Visited a few points but highest would appear to be the one inside the woods to the South of the A31. returned the same way.garyhoney18/11/2020
Driven by in both directions and stopped in the two lay-bys closest to the high point in the westbound direction.lerritt07/02/2020
Ash to Guildford. Along 850m of the central reservation (southern side) between Wanborough & Flexford paths I recorded just 2m of height variation while the Sunday afternoon traffic thundered by.Smudge20/01/2019
Parked by Greyfriars lodge and bus stop on west bound dual carriageway. Walked along central reservation to HP. Having been along this road many years ago several times, though it should be done properly.PeterD12/11/2017
Another drive over but stopped briefly by Grayfriars vineyard for a wee in the summit lay-by woods on way to Weds afternoon orienteering event near Farnham.Chris Pearson27/09/2017
Parked in the bus stop near Greyfriars. Took a quick picture much to the puzzlement of the thundering traffic on the A31.DanMaisieBex07/05/2017
Not really countable as an ascent this time but an incidental double crossing in a very posh Range Rover having a lift to and back from an Army Orienteering event (open to civilians) around Aldershot Barracks - a fast flat running event weaving around accommodation & sports buildings, high fences -and even armed sentries. 39 controls in just 6km. Great long range views from Hog's Back of autumnal golden woods as we sped along. Jane Austen also wrote about the great views form Hog's Back as she too sped along -in a carriage -not a Range Rover.Chris Pearson16/11/2016
Hiked from Loseley Park up the south side and along, can see London on a clear day.The Mountain Raven24/09/2016
Assuming driving along the duel carriageway counts done this one several times.ekm01/06/2016
Had driven over this before but decided to try and do it properly as well. In the dusk of a summer evening up from the south through woods, golf course fairways and the Greyfriars vineyard. At the busy fast dual carriageway bagged the central reservation strip of wood which looked as high as anything but decided against walking along the narrow verge to the 152m spot height location. Returned by car 3 months later and stopped in bus stop further along at the imperceptibly higher(?) spot height.Chris Pearson18/06/2015

S verge of w-bound c/way: W side of entrance probably higher but E side SU 95006 48411 very similar elev. Didn't visit SU946484, can't rule out its being higher having studied 25k. W-bound, bus layby for quick stop (bus layby E-bound less convenient)RHW02/12/2012
