Parked in lay-by at SU 9153 0867 on A285 at Warehead Farm. Tarmac parking with 12 marked parking-bays. Followed wide, well marked path through several gates and across open field next to hedgerow to highest point - probably just NE of the windmill | Meanderer | 07/09/2022 |
An evening walk on a sunny evening with Alma Aurea. Graffiti on trig was disappointing. Otherwise a lovely spot. | meltdiceburg | 22/04/2022 |
East Dean walk to Halnaker Hill and Nore Hill. Lovely blue skies. | PhilipChaston | 27/02/2022 |
One of the busiest hills I'd been on all week but deservedly so, well preserved windmill a bonus to the summit | Colin Crawford | 22/10/2021 |
From layby to SW. Quick up and down to trig and summit by torchlight. | PGCE | 11/01/2021 |
A lovely morning for a circular walk. Eartham woods, Monarch's Way then footpath UP to the windmill. A busy spot and very popular. Back down through Halnaker and a footpath north through Halnaker path and the woods to Selhurst park. | Buck | 29/11/2020 |
lovely spot with restored windmill, trig, remains of WW2 radio direction finder, wildflowers and great views. Short walk from large layby to SW. Popular. | Denise | 05/07/2020 |
Parking at W end of Mill Lane then RoW which conveniently goes all the way to the hill top which has trig pillar, windmill and old military(?) brickwork structure. Good views. | RichardM | 05/07/2020 |
From Warehead Farm, interesting little hill. | rhalstead | 09/03/2020 |
From Mill Lane, starting at the parking area by Warehead Farm. The route used by others on this site as well as locals out jogging or dog-walking. Pleasant and interesting. First Tump on a sunny breezy day. | pwheeler | 08/07/2019 |
Another stop off on the way to the coast. From lay-by on A285. Cold wind but a pleasant gradual climb and good views. Windmill had been broken into, sadly. | KC | 09/03/2019 |
A revisit with L to see what, unbelievably, some of our council tax money has been spent on - improving a windmill ! (new sweeps, smart tile cladding and fresh painted woodwork). At least its useful in providing a perfect landmark for the small planes doing circuits at nearby Goodwood Aerodrome. Hobbled up with a slowly improving knee which coped with the 4 km round trip from Boxgrove and its impressive Priory, and home of the even more impressive Duke the Chameleon which we are looking after. Numbing wind - so fast hobbled back for warm drinks and our mince pie mountain (at 10p for a box of 6 - ended up with 30 for 50p, from M&S - end of season bargain, along with a crate of satsumas ) | Chris Pearson | 05/01/2019 |
Easy walk on paths from SW to summit windmill. | Herbert Anchovy | 12/09/2018 |
After walk from Nore Hill and Eartham took the footpath south off the A285-big mistake as was wearing shorts. Seriously unkempt with nettles, thistles, hawthorn at all heights - secateurs needed! Still, after turning onto pathway, the view from the top was excellent with Bognor, Chichester and Isle of Wight also visible to the south. With Rosalie. | JOHNS | 31/07/2017 |
Along Mill Lane then up track to Windmill surrounded by fencing. Trig and HP both outside fence either side of Windmill. | PeterD | 07/07/2017 |
From Eartham Woods car park. From Nore Hill, went via trig and folly, down to Eartham village, along RoW to A285 and along RoW to summit. There were men renovating the windmill, which was behind a sturdy barricade. The summit was outside this area, though. With JT. | Sprog | 13/04/2017 |
Halnaker circular. Busy hill with dog walkers and young families despite heavy showers around. Heard one puzzled youngster asking parent why the track was muddy - is it because of the rain? | Smudge | 05/03/2017 |
Lovely walk from Halnaker via Eartham woods | ejjohnstone | 05/02/2017 |
