As PGCE, from the housing estate to W.Minto30/06/2023
Approached from Wainscott - SW. Couldn't find path from the housing estate w of the summit. Worked my way round in the woods and ended up approaching from the east. A muddy path to the east and south east to return via Chattenden.Moorponder25/11/2022
On my wedding anniversary early start temp soon in the 30's path bone dry. Unable to find footpath from Cliffe Woods earlier but from army camp and Lodge Hill the track was easy, west to top.DRS19/07/2022

From the N, muddy footpath from Cooling Common then bridleway along ridge to summit. Orange skies of sunset through the leafless trees.RichardM21/01/2020
First hill bag of the decade. Relatively close to home so a quick drive out in the evening. Approached via a footpath from the estate to the south and worked my way though the woods and up the hill. Then took the other path that returned me in to the east of the estate via a long path down between gardens. Very, very, very muddy. Dog went straight in the bath.MysteriousSue17/01/2020

From estate along FP, HP close to junction with sign.PeterD25/11/2016
From the estate, found GA's FP OK. Muddy little track, ended up heading approx 10m NW off the RoW seeking a HP, but all in vain really, might as well stick to the path. Tickjonglew01/07/2016
From housing to west. Ratley Hill lies on The Hoo Peninsula, surrounded by the North Kent marshes SSSI. The dominating tall chimney belongs to Kingsnorth power station which since opening in 1967 has burned coal and oil. The location was chosen due to the proximity to London(who wanted the electricity), the availability of cooling water from the River Medway, and deep-water berthing for oil tankers and colliers. In 1987 Greenpeace scaled the chimney abseiled down and painted Gordon on the side (should have said Gordon bin it, but they ran out of time overnight) as a protest against fossil fuel pollution and the damage caused by climate change -upheld later in court as grounds for a rightful protest. In 2013 the plant was closed as it had not been adapted to meet emissions targets, and had run out of its allocated operating hours under EU environmental laws.Chris Pearson15/06/2015
Path through new estate really does exist with signposts, but took a bit of finding. Parked at 7405 7315 at narrow entrance to path leading up to the top. Mud baked into hard ridges todayGordonAdshead19/04/2015
