Aptly named in the conditions, plenty of snow lying. From Coob Hill and onto Hillshaw Head and Coomb Dodd. Back to bikes at Hopehead and back to Kingledores. With GNtrimarc205/03/2020

From Kingledores - glen track to windfarm road up Kingle Rig, then Glenlood, Broomy Law,Coomb Hill, Gathersnow, Hillshaw Head and Coomb Dod, then near 4 mile walk back down the glen to the car. The new windfarms are adding lots of new roads on these hills - not shown on my OS mapCrib Goch24/08/2019
A nice walk from Glenkirk, over Congrie Hill on a good track then a path all the way to Culter Fell, for Marilyn No. 1200. On to Gathersnow Hill taking a direct route up from Holm Nick on sheep trods and short grass and bilberry higher up. Met Alda on the way down. Down via Coomb Hill to Holms Waterhead on a vague path, then heather and long grass to a rough ATV track through deep heather, improving lower down. Excellent cafe in Broughton, open until 18.00Gill08/07/2019

The 4th of 6 D/DT/DDew on N. side of Kingledoors valley, starting with Glenlood Hill & finishing on Coomb Dod. From Coomb Hill, a straightforward walk over decent terrain to the summit cairn, making use of frequent trods. Continued to Hillshaw Head. (S)gerrybowes09/04/2019
Kingledores circuit, camping overnight by summit of Coomb Dod. Cocklie Rig Head, Glenlood Hill, Broomy Law, Coomb Hill, Gathersnow Hill, Hillshaw Head, Coomb Dodd, Glenwhappen Dod, Upper Oliver Dodd, Nether Oliver Dodd. Mist down over the tops, but just occasional drizzle.RobertP06/04/2019

A circuit from Kingledores on a mild, misty December day. Across the foot bridge, up trods onto the broad SE ridge of Cocklie Rig Head, across the windfarm track to the summit, along the fence line over Glenlood Hill, Broomy Law, Coomb Hill, Gathersnow Hill, Hillshaw Head, Coomb Dod and Glenwhappen Dod, steeply down heather slopes to the track down the glen below the sheepfold. There is a curious gallery of summit markers on the Donalds and Donald Tops!Nick Down123/12/2018

Apt name. Snow seemed deeper on this hill. Good sheep's skull on summitt. Views taken over by massive wind turbine farm. Company: Soloiandesbottes07/01/2018
After Culter Fell, returned to bike at reservoir. Sun came out at summit. Unseasonably warm. Rounsfell23/12/2017
From Kingledores using windfarm access road to keep feet dry. Out to Glewnlood Hill then along ridge over Broomy Law and Coomb Hill to Gathersnaw Hill. Walked to Hillshaw Head in compant with walker doing a horseshoe from north but sadly saw nothing. Then came the huge surprise as a wind turbine appeared as I descended to Coomb Dod. Returned by way of east flank and valley floor. Shame about the weather.SS14/10/2017

This second ascent took place as I walked from Coomb Hill, Kingledores, over GH to Hillshaw Head; a very misty day until after I dropped off Coomb Dod. Third visit, solo 21/07/2019, was also going from Coomb Hill over GH to HH; a better day although a shower after dropping off CD.jacobus16/06/2015

5th hill on anti-clockwise circuit of Kingledores Glen from the farm with friendly farmer. Parked at entrance to farm on old road. Part of a 12.5 mile 3100ft circuit.Minto07/02/2015
From Glenkirk; up the N ridge of Coomb Hill right from the valley at Holmes Waterhead. This route joins the fence along the ridge above the windfarm so we were walking away from it- very easy, nice terrain, the fence leads to the Marilyn top.pwheeler22/09/2014
