Parked in High Tor Road for a quick up and down.PGCE06/10/2023
Parked on road to east. On OS OL24 a track / footpath is shown going NW towards High Tor, parked on road at that point. Once you have reached the summit, the Giddy Route is accessed to the N. It’s 6 boots wide and has a handrail.Malcvolm15/05/2023
Parked on the road to the east at 30088 58764, down a path into the dip and worked my way up past old mine workings and sheer drops.clivevilla22/02/2023

A very easy walk from good parking at the junction of Starkholmes Road and High Tor Road. Signposted path but the general rule is to just head upwards at each junction.moorsman09/08/2020
A quick walk up high tor before the parking ran out. Nice views on summit despite the cloudy day.Joel45108/07/2020

Obviously a tourist trap but amazing views down into Matlock Bath. To ascend you basically have two options. A easy walk up from Old Matlock or a steap ascent up from Matlock Bath itself.Altheus16/06/2020

Walk with family from Cromford to Matlock via High TorStestag05/05/2018
Parking: Starkholmes Road opposite site of knocked down school. Followed various footpaths to summit. A very well dressed elderly couple on their way down from near the top muttered to me that 'we were looking for the shops in Matlock Bath'. I thought it was quite a feat to get so lost...David Evans13/01/2018
Someone obviously had rather wide boots.Martin R07/01/2018
Just room to park adjacent white garage wall opposite Tor Close road junction SK 301 589. Then continue ahead on foot to enter wood at gate with many signs. Plenty paths thereafter.carole engel31/12/2017

With Gill Stephens. Had this ticked from years ago when climbing here, but not 100% sure I visited actual high point, then. Traversed the Giddy Edge Path on the way down. Two boots width is a bit of an exaggeration, to say the least. There's a handrail as well, for goodness sake. Reminiscent of some sections of the AV2 in the Dolomites. The rifts & chasms of the old lead mining rakes, are well worth an explore, on the way down.ngthack28/01/2017
With Rosemary and Penda, from Matlock Bath Station. Easy walk with spectacular views, 1hr round trip.beorwulf24/10/2016
Quick bag after a meeting. If you like a thrill try the Giddy Edge path. It's one way, starting by the unfenced viewpoint just to the north of the actual summit. Sign proclaims 'spectacular views ahead' and advises staying well back from the edge. Which is a con, as there is no 'back from the edge'! The path is only a few hundred yards, but literally two boots wide and a huge sheer drop! I managed about four steps towards it before bailing! Must be a contender for one of Britain's most thrilling paths.MrChris198019/10/2016
Parked at end of High Tor Road. Delightful walk up to spectacular summit.Campbell Singer02/10/2016

As part of circuit around Matlock. You wouldn't want to trip up over your laces on this one! 700th hill landmark reached today.Wheelsy28/02/2016
Superb Boxing day walk with R, impressive cliff edge and traversing path between Matlock and Matlock Bath, Described by Victorians as an exciting Alpine route and I agreed!Denise 26/12/2015
Superb high point where limestone breaks through grass at edge of cliff top. Refreshing lack of signs and fences at cliff edge.RichardM26/12/2015
A five-tump circuit from Tansley: Ashover Hay - Cocking Tor - Matlock Moor - Oker Hill - Masson Hill - Matlock Bath - High Tor. Ascended via the Derwent Valley Heritage Way from Matlock Bath. Surprisingly it took 8 years of living in Derby before I visited this one!davidpettit8426/09/2015
