| Gorgeous sunny January afternoon after supply teaching day in Newquay. A very pleasant walk out to this iron age peninsula fort headland then across sandy Porth Beach for a 1.5 hr walk following the coast through Newquay to Trenance Hill (tump) and and back again to take in the sights. Happy memories looking down at Tolcarne Beach from childhood holidays. My heart went out to the asylum seekers -all men - sitting around the front of a seafront hotel -where they have just been placed temporarily (to the inevitable concern of locals) by the Home Office after a petrol bomb attack at the Dover Centre. They get free board, food, medical care & £8 week, but not allowed to work. Good to see some of them kicking a ball around on the grass.
