Staying at the Ochils Mountaineering Club Cottage in Crianlarich; on Sunday, I headed up Sgurr na h-Ulaidh with Dave Morgan, Al McBride and Chelsea Murray . Set off in darkness again at 07:50, it was a balmy -6C. We walked up the track and then a long slog up to the my 100th Munro Top, Stob an Fhuarain (968m). It was only once on the ridge, that we found the sunshine. Then some icy conditions getting up to Sgurr na h-Ulaidh (994m) my 199th Munro. Descending was made easier with micro spikes. Back to the car at 16:46, in darkness again. A cracking daychillyman803/12/2023

Tough trails paths with a lot of climb with it being 4 miles to top of Corbet we did before Munro, concentration was required all the way as there was a lot of ice and and snow on top with a few scrambling bits over icy rockssupermario21/10/2021

Having been defeated by a massive cornice on the N 'nose' in 2016, went via Bealach Easan and up Corr na Beinne, but difficult to pre-determine a complete route up the NW flank as the bealach is too close to the hill - went up ascending TR R, then an ascending TR back L, generally steep with one short very steep bit of hard neve.Isbjorn Winter Round11/02/2019

From Glen Coe, path not very good after track finishes. Took a fairly direct line into Coire Dubh and then winding up between the crags to the Stob an Fhuarain col. This was steep but straightforward, a walk not a scramble, mostly grassy slopes with a little scree.alda10/10/2016

With Andrew McCluskey, Lily and Hibbert following the WH route. Steep grass and bouldery slopes. Occasional cloud and rain and then great clear views of Glencoe and Etive hills and to Mull. 6 hoursalexmaclennan12/07/2016
2nd day of our Glencoe trip (with Paul & Adam). Adams idea as it was a Munro he needed to bag. Good walk with some really good views from the top. Fairly long walk in/out via landrover track then following the stream up, before breaking off to the left and hitting the ridge line. Good weather as well. Descent on the other side of the Munro was ok with a bit of a hairy bit half way down. I believe its known as the bad step - was ok but can see how it would be dangerous in the wet.scholesy04/06/2016

finally got up this hill after so many attempts. In the early 90s got almost to the summit with Elizabeth but no crampons so solid ice made the slopes impossible. Then there was the RRMC trip to Glencoe when I ascended with Robin and others only to have to retreat through illness. Solo. This was the last hill before the last one (and the party). Started with clouds but became a lovely day. Kept waiting for the weather to deteriorate ... but it didn't. At 4:15 it cleared totally. Hence the descent via the ridge.sarahk17/08/1999

Start ~ 119564. Took the valley track to the south before climbing the hillside to the left and following the ridge over Aonach Dubh a Ghlinne to reach Stob an Fhuarain. We continued SE and cimbed a snow slope to the Munro summit of Sgurr na h-Ulaidh. Returned via Stob an Fhuarain and then W down to the valley track. With Ron Oakley.steve hudson05/04/1999

Started near Achnacon with Shaky following the track & across the river & then N into the glen. Struck off more or less directly up the slope to Stob an Fhuarain - a bit of a slog. On to Sgurr na h-Ulaidh: no treasure in sight & not much of a view either. Back over Stob an Fhuarain & then along its N ridge where a decent view appeared.NotReallyABagger25/08/1991

This worked too well as a plan for avoiding Bank Holiday crowds. We saw no one until 1600hrs and they were ascending. It was nice to be able to start from the Clachaig, where we were staying, walking up Gleann na Muidhe to access the mountains. I decided that an ascent of Coir na Beinne from the bealach to its N would give a better walk than the one in the SMC's Munros guide book. It did, but I was surprised by a difficult step over low crags above the bealach. This was negotiated with easy scrambling but would have caused considerable anxiety in descent. You will be up to your knees' Thanked them and left without telling them I was equipped with new yeti gaiters. With Mark up steep scrabbly N ridge of Aonach Dubh into clag Then along ridge over lower tops . Some sort of wearisome lurgi came over me; feeling washed out but plodded on as you do. Down rubbly scree to N and easier grass down valley and extended forest track. Wet (very) and windy, very cloudy. Soaked. From Clachaig. Very steeply and icily up Aonach Dubh a' Ghlinne, over the two tops then down the west side of West Gully on crap snow. 9th December 1984, just looked it up. Apparently the next day it pissed it down and Ian drove the minibus into a ditch between the Clachaig and Glencoe village.Capt Malbec09/12/1984

Staying at Onich CHA Guest House Continuous rain in the morning bur eventually I went out alone. I walked from the Guest House to Glen Coe using the ferry. Went up the private road to Gleann-leac-na-muidhe and to Bealach Easan. The summit of Sgor na h-Ulaidh was reached. Thick mist made navigation difficult. A descent in the direction of Aonach Dubh a' Chlinne was attempted but was not successful as difficulties were met. As time was short and thick mist still prevailed the original route was retraced.
