Parked at upper Tanygrisiau car park and took the lower SW footpath (faint at times) up towards the dam and around the upper cwm to Bwlch Stwlan. Clear ridge path out and back to Moelwyn Bach and along to Craigysgafn, Moelwyn Mawr and Moel yr hydd. Return to 566m bwlch and SE descent to tarmac road from power station. Hot but hazy half day walk, very dry underfoot. Solo | richard69 | 12/06/2023 |

Moel-yr-hydd, Molwyn Mawr and Molwyn Bach circular walk from Tanygrisiau. If you follow the footpath on the OS map, it’s hard to find the path. I went upward scrambling, then finally got to the top and found an actual path. Then it was clear to the summit. From Moel-yr-Hydd, there’s a clear path to Molwyn Mawr, a trig point at the top. I went along the ridge as it’s interesting. From Molwyn Mawr, there’s nothing small about Molwyn Bach. You head down to the right and you have to cross two mounds to get the start of the path which is clear to the summit, it’s quite steep. I went over to some interesting stones and pools of water and then descended by the Tanygrisiau reservoir, which has a tarmac path all the way back to the car park. | Skarletk | 26/02/2022 |

Started from car park at Tanygrisiau, climbed to disused quarry before continuing to climb the long grassy eastern side of Molewyn Mawr past the very deep hole. Great views from the summit on the clear day today. Saw no one at all. | giant_hiker | 12/07/2020 |
8 mile circular from minor road south of Croesor, walked down to Croesor then good path up side of Cwm Croesor to the ghostly Rhosydd quarry, from there followed footpath south and traversed grassy slopes onto Foel Ddu, then onto Moel-Yr-Hydd, from here we headed SW past the big quarrying hole and up steep grass slopes to Moelwyn Mawr, from here headed down steeply onto Craigysgafn, then interesting rocky descent down to Bwlch Stylan, up onto Moelwyn Bach then back down to car. Great weather with amazing views of every high peak in Snowdonia and all the way along Cardigan Bay, Moelwyn Mawr is probably my favourite view in Snowdonia, considering it was a sunny sunday there were only a few people about. Afterwards drove to and bagged Y Garnedd and Carreg Y Foel-Gron. | DanTrig | 12/07/2020 |
From Croesor: Cnicht, Cnicht North Top, Moel-yr-hydd, Moelwyn Mawr North Top, Moelwyn Mawr, Craigsgafyn. With a small group from Hiking Manchester. Day started brigt and clear, then became very misty and difficult to navigate. Had to abandon walk and miss out Moelwyn Bach. One for another day... | Lazylizzie | 02/11/2019 |

From Croesor. Road SW then track to join the west ridge. With Val as far as the steep section of the ridge then solo to summit. Good clear views. | mike.hoult | 06/10/2018 |
This was a great walk. Not sunny but dry and cloud was generally quite high. Great view of Porthmadog and other tops. Loved the ruined quarry landscapes. Hard to comprehend how huge these quarries were and how many people they employ unless you actually go there and walk round. Started in Tanygrisia and up to Rhosydd Quarry, Moel-yrHydd, past the huge 'twll', North Ridge Top, Moelwyn Mawr,Craigysgafn, Moelwyn Bach, down to Croesor village, Cnicht, North Top and then back to the quarry via the col and down to Tanygrisia. | tsharp | 10/09/2018 |

Start from Beddgelert, return via Moelwyn Bach and Cnicht back to Beddgelert, 20.8 miles. | stephenbuda | 17/05/2018 |
From Tanygrisiau. Up the hard road towards the reservoir. Missed the path to right and found myself at the reservoir. From there a steep ascent was needed to gain the east ridge. Down NE ridge to extensive disused slate quarry buildings at the Allt Fawr col, then back down the slate track. | Topographer57 | 10/05/2018 |
