Spent the weekend at the Ochils Mountaineering Club cottage in Crianlarich. Saturday 28/08/21, I headed round to Loch Creran to bag the Munro of Beinn Sgulaird (937m). There was thick mist at sea level, but I was above this at around 200m. The mist lifted a bit during the day, but it still blocked any views of the sea, with Ben More on Mull, sticking above the mist. 06:50hrs all in.chillyman828/08/2021
Even hotter than Beinn Challum was yesterday- no wind at all and no cloud, roasting temperatures! End of the line for Raichle Mids too - RIP. Thankfully could tell the soles were on the way out so had scarpa boots in rucksack…jonbowyer26/08/2021

From Druimavuic, past rhododendrons blooming in the gardens bordering the track, turning onto the S ridge of Beinn Sgulaird at the cairn, detouring from the path to Druim a'Vuic, over BS South Top, Meall Garbh , BS and BS North Top. Superb views over lochs Creran and Etive and into the Central Highlands from the North Top. On return, I cut down after Meall Garbh to pick up the start of the track leading to Druimavuic. This took a fair amount of weaving around to avoid crags and steep grass, so keeping to the path on the return is probably preferable.Nick Down115/05/2021
From Druimavuic - route up to bealach at the top of the path then up to the south top , fairly consolidated snow on the way up - care (and axe) needed on descent down from the South Top towards Meall Garb and down from Meall Garbh to towards the summit. The track was icy from around 300m up to the snow line.mproudfoot02/01/2021

Ascent of Beinn Sgulaird from Druimavuic. Anticlockwise route, ascending ridge line before descending the west flank of Beinn Sgulaird.welshyboyo08/08/2018
From Druimavuic - ascent and descent via ENE Ridge. Lots snow above 500m. Little shelter from strong E wind - progress difficult in places. Descent and re-ascent over subsidiary summits easy enough in snow, but couldn’t descend to Taraphocain as holding too much snow, so reversed route outwychwood10/03/2018

Up the visible-for-miles track from the layby just north of Druimavuic: it's on the 1:25000 but not yet the 1:50000. At the 550m col, we left the track and headed north up the steep slope to the 863m top. Returning, took the path west of 863m towards 488m; hard to say which route is preferable.Pete R22/07/2017

A very warm. clear day. Quite a long way along the ridge with plenty of ups and downs. Cutting directly back to the glen proved to be quite a slog. Alex saw what may have been a wildcat as we began the descent.darradog29/05/2013
second ascent of beinn sgulaird, with a first ascent of the 2 south tops, 2 in party, clear for most of the day, then a prolonged snow shower as we start our descent, climbed from druimavuic, pt 488 and up the ridge to pt 863, cut steps in the descent, pt 848, again cut steps down from this top and the final summit ridge in crampons, only taking them off after descending a few hundred metres from the summit.rum doodle 07/02/2013

Holiday on my own staying in Glen Coe Youth hostel. All tops have snow on them above 500m including this one, but I have spent £100 on my new ice-axe, gortex mittens and snow goggles! I was very pleased with my ice axe it helped me a lot giving me confidence going up and down, although I did slip once going down and did not stop until I came to a less steep slope. I had forgot how much more effort it takes walking in snow. 3 hours to get up and 2 1/2 to get down. It did hail a few times. Great views from the top - Etive mountain and Ben Starav and across to Mull. Ptarmagen and red deer.Victor12/01/1989
