This was a lovely walk. Climbing the western Arans from Cwm Cywarch gives a lovely approach. I climbed Gwaun y Llwyni, Waun Camddwr, Aran Fawddwy (a good view today, so I climbed it again), Gwaun Lydan and Pen yr Allt Uchaf. All finished off with a very steep drop on the northern grassy slope of Pen yr Allt Uchaf.oldbagger2720/06/2023

7th summit on 15 mile Aran walk from Llanuwchllyn to Brithdir. Headed straight down the steep slopes of Gwaun y Llwyni to Nant Camddwr following a broken fence line. At least the wind had dropped, but the terrain became a bog. The planks are hilarious, mostly rotting and surrounding by deep black pits. Surprisingly enjoyable, coming across here in solitude, never knowing whether the next step will be into the depths. Nice to get a little respite on the rocky outcrops of the summit. Onwards towards choices.thesweetcheat18/04/2023

Wet and foggy day to start. Climbed up here and walked the Aran Ridge. rescued 6 dogs on top which stopped me getting right to the top of the main mountain - got within 5m and the only reason I didn't make it to touch the cairn was trying to keep the pack togetherdavert12324/10/2021

Nuttall's routes 8.1 and 8.3 combined plus a few extras - Pen-aran (at the end of the main ridge - a Bridge), Pen y Byn-fforchog North Top (a Bridge) and Y Gribin (a simm). 12 peaks - 29.93km - 5500 feet - took just under eleven hours (the GPS reckoned three hours were spent sitting on my backside!). Lovely sunny day until I got to Pen y Byn fforchog when the cloud descended and it began drizzling. Route through the forest was horrible.Herbert Anchovy31/07/2020

Modest winds and cloud around summits. Distance 11.2Km, ascent ~1000m. Day 2 spent mostly in cloud. Ascent of Waun Camddwr (621m), Glasgwm (780m), Pen y Brynfforchorg (685m), and descent to Bwlch Oerddrws. Distance 7.7Km, ascent 373m. Hitch back to car.VirtualMountain27/07/2019

Aran Fawddwy wildcamp to Drws-y-Nant. In the hot, clear summer weather we had, this was a very colourful and attractive bit of wild, albeit still very boggy. The descent to bwlch with Glasgwm and then to the forest in Cwm-ochr is a mostly horrendous squelch fest but the path is clear enough.Jake99416/08/2016

Drove down to the head of valley, go past chapel and phone box, excellent parking for 40+ cars now at SH 85250 18856, complete with loo! Walked short distance back down road and then lane leading to ford and then good track up to the bwlch to the north of Y Gribin. Climbed this and then the good path to summit cairn of Glasgwym. ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL DAY WITH GOOD VIEWS. FOLLOWED NUTTALLS WALK 8.1 UP THE STEEP GRASS ONTO PEN Y ALLT UCHAF, THEN EASILY OVER GWAUN LYDAN. A STIFF CLIMB ONTO ARAN FAWDDWY, THEN EASY RIDGE WALKING TO ERW Y DDAFAD DDU AND ARAN BENLLYN WITH GOOD VIEWS OVER BALA, RHINOGS AND ARENIGS. RETURNED AVOIDING SUMMITS TO DESCEND STEEPLY AND THEN OVER ROUGH GROUND TO GWAUN Y LLWYNI AND EASILY TO WAUN CAMDDWR. DECIDED TO TAG ON WALK 8.3 TO AVOID RE-ASCENT AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF FINE WEATHER AND LONG JUNE DAYLIGHT. A VERY HARD CLIMB ONTO GLASGWM, THEN EASY RIDGE TO FINISH ON PEN Y BRYN FFORCHOG. HOWEVER, THE FOREST HAS BEEN FELLED AND IT WAS VERY TOUGH GOING TRYING TO FOLLOW THE PREVIOUS RIDES UNTIL THE EASY DESCENT OF THE ZIGZAG - 10.5 HOURS WALKING.BURGESS15/06/2015

Up from Cwm Cywarch via Hengwm. Along the ridge to Aran Benllyn and then back to Cwm Cywarch via the waterfalls. Fantastic views. Two real contenders for this summit, each with a few stones piled up, though I stood on many other rocky knolls just in case!ruthatlast02/07/2014

Part of an epic Aran Ridge walk starting at Felindre farm near Llanuwchylln, i stopped off at the Eagles pub for supplies and headed out on the ridge visiting, Garth Fawr, Pen-aran, Er w Ddafad-ddhu, Aran Fawddyw and Gwaun Y Llwyni and after exploring the southern ridge (pen main)i dropped down and climbed past the Camddwr stream and up to Waun Camddwr. There were lots of rocky outcrops with stones on them so I had to visit them all to be sure! Lovely views down the valley, Next hill is Glasgwm.Dazingdale07/05/2014

As part of full Nuttall circuit - the path back to Cwm Cywarch was very boggy and a lot of summer rain (the planks laid over the bog get very slippy in the rain)woodse31/07/2009

On way to Glasgwm from Aran Fawddwy, rocky bluff not far from path.Aye Jimmy22/04/2008
On our way up Aran Fawddwy when the snow was deep and the bogs were treacherous, we stopped for a break on a rare rocky outcrop a little way from the path in the middle of the morass. Only afterwards did I find we'd accidently bagged a Nuttall! Sorry...wheresthepath13/04/2008

Solo run. Last of seven peaks. Done innocemtly before it was promoted to full Nuttall status.mikejacobs29/05/1998
A hot day in February. 3rd top of a superb 5 hour bagging run in shorts around Cwm Cywarch horseshoe of peaks (superb long steep slopes plummet down from the corrie edge). With Rob Small and John Mawr (w/e staying at Corris YH) doing Deweys and previously missed Nuttalls which were not published when I was doing the Bridges here.Chris Pearson15/02/1998
