From CP on Criggion lane, Breidden Hill - Moel y Golfa - Middletown Hill. 10.6 Mile loop with R+R. | Dan Baddeley | 23/03/2024 |
Walked west from Middletown Hill, over minor summit (307m), then south from col. Took Private Path above The Dingle to join the public fp up through the trees to the summit. Solo. | Dangerous Dave | 25/02/2024 |
Ascent from Middletown via Moel y Golfa woods, though footpaths from the village were unclear on the ground. Spectacular views of distant Welsh massifs from the summit. Descent to Golfa Bank and back via footpath alongside A458 | Cumbriancyclist | 18/01/2024 |

Parked at N 52° 42.325 W 003° 03.525 (Shepards Lane Parking). From here there is a straightforward and scenic path to the summit (a few rocky bits), where myself and Alma Aurea enjoyed the glorious views. /D | meltdiceburg | 15/09/2023 |

Stayed overnight in the Admiral Rodney pub CP (no charge, just buy a meal or some drinks). Up an adjacent track and ROW to Kempster's Hill, the final 100m or so being a clamber up a woodland bank. E to a gate and minor road, which led westwards past Bulthy and Belle Eisle Farm. Opposite the farm building is a ROW running between Bulthy Hill and Middletown Hill, turning westwards to the top of the latter. Onwards to Moel y Golfa, taking a route around a house along a footpath signed No Footpath! until reaching the official woodland path above The Dingle. A touch brackeny in places but a superb summit with a fascinating memorial to the Romany grandfather of Tyson Fury. Descended SW along a craggy path until eventually reaching a minor road heading back NE towards New Pieces. Just before the high point of the road ... 264m there is a ROW track up to and behind a barn conversion, from where it joins another ROW past pheasant pens to SW of the summit. A grass cut path helps gain a few more | summitter | 01/09/2023 |
Parked at the pub, still for sale. Walked back west to the house and farm, up lane, into row which crosses the field. Over stile, straight up for 50m to path, which takes you to the summit, albeit hidden by 5foot bracken at times. Very impressive monument, how did they move such large bolcks of stone (or get them there?). Well worth the visit. | iangalbraith | 14/08/2023 |
Parked by Breiddon Inn, now up for sale. Busy main road, but path behind hedge has gap in hedge opposite footpath. Route as Julie B. Steep parts on the descent were rather tricky with our elderly lab. | kindpercy | 28/07/2023 |
With Martin Kimberley. Same as JulieB except for the return path, where we followed the road to the North and came on the path between the hills (very overgrown). Well marked tracks were over grown, and poorly marked tracks on the West side were very steep, but perhaps best to use these for ascent and descent. | gbeniston | 19/07/2023 |

08:00, 3 degrees (8 later), north-easterlies, sunny spells. Grit bin and SW ridge route. Superb example of the inselbergs of this area; wooded lower slopes, rocky ridge, sense of spaciousness. Love it! | Wycombe Wanderer | 26/02/2023 |
Same route as JulieB. | mad max | 12/02/2023 |
Second ascent. Parked at 28561250 with space for at least two cars. Up track in open access land (not shown on OS map) which takes you past Trinity Well and up to ridge. Additional parking space for one car at 28551230. | PeteF | 30/12/2022 |
Up from the grit box like others. It was very steep with a little scramble at the end. Enjoyed it but a bit damp. | nickywood1 | 20/12/2022 |

From car park by the Breiddon Inn on main road in Middletown. Along path on same side of road for a short way then across road to The Dingle. Followed zig zag path that goes initially across field and then up steeply through woods. Yellow markers randomly placed. Across ridge path to monument. From summit continued west along ridge path (steep in parts) down to countouring path past base of quarry. Then back along lower path to start. 3.1 miles 1hr 28 walking time (per Garmin) | JulieB | 19/10/2022 |

From pub car park in Middletown, had planned to link with Middletown Hill, but not that easy. Followed zig zag path that goes initially across field and then up through woods. Good view point going to both tops and monument. | PeterD | 09/08/2022 |
From the grit bin on Garreg Drive, up south west ridge with my missus, traversed peak then followed path steeply down east to The Dingle, saw deer. Return via contour path past quarry. Hot day but 80% of route shaded by trees. Fine peak and monument. | Nick Canute | 08/08/2022 |

From Welshpool on bike which I left at base of hill. | davechaffey | 26/05/2022 |
CP at Briedden pub in Middletown then ROW to summit. Steep through the woods, but well worth it for great views to the N and W. Late spring snow shower on the descent. With Carla and Felix. | RoguePulsar | 02/04/2022 |
Walked from a pub on the road onto a path, we crossed the road to a driveway which had a field on the left which we went into, we followed a path into the wood the path in the wood was very steep, near the top was a big rock monument. Went with Dad and Mum. | speedyclimber | 02/04/2022 |
Parked in old quarry, walked through woods generally upwards until reached path to the top. Followed the row down close to Trinity well. Only saw one other Walker. Solo. | Pjb100 | 17/03/2022 |

Parked above Garreg Bank at 2854 1237 and followed the obvious track up. It becomes a footpath higher up which leads all the way to the impressive Romany monument and also the summit. Lovely woodland walk with superb views too. | Peterb | 04/11/2021 |
Parked by the gate to the south then followed path west before looping back up. | Stevooo | 20/08/2021 |

Thought I would pop up here while passing through the area. Massively underestimated how steep this was and how long it would take. | sturuss | 14/04/2021 |
