From 187104. This hill is a complete mess, used by scrambler type motorbikes, also kids on ATVs doing donuts to churn up the ground. Also much plastic litter. Dismayed to find that there are so many litter louts in this part of beautiful Wales.NormanW06/10/2019
North ridge, tracks and paths from clubhouse. Heavy shower on the way down.Topographer5704/09/2019
Nipped up from Nantyglo as dusk fell - weather holding finewychwood19/02/2019
Parked at golf club, permission readily given.SteveG10/01/2019
From Ebbw Vale - wet, windy low visabbo000115/12/2018
Up past golf course with its “grass carpets” which are very green compared to the yellow straw which is the golf course!elizyanne14/07/2018
From SO178092 - initially following the old tramway. Also visited the alternative HP.summitsup06/04/2018
Parking space near the Golf Course at 187104 on the bend at the end of a BOAT which has been blocked with large boulders, so no worries about vehicle access. Followed the track up the hill, very easy with nice views. I went to the highest point of the track, and so overshot the trig, but no worries, it's a pleasant walk on the plateau.Gill23/02/2018
From the multistory car park in Ebbw Vale. Folllowed sign to Newtown over bridge. Straight on at Methodist chapel then right and up minor road, left up path to disused quarry and up by top of golf course. The upper reaches of this hill have been horribly scarred and disfigured by the activity of off-road motorbikes, really ruining what could be rather an attractive little hill.lenman30/12/2017
3/5M From coalbrookvale track to farm, then path of sorts up through hillside to gain high track to the top.robertphillips11/11/2017
With: hb; Parked at SO189105 and followed byway through golf course on to ridge then cut across to summit trig. Returned by same route. Very easy route.Ian Baines20/08/2017

From Westside in Blaina. The path shown on the map didn't exist, so I just went up the reclaimed grass slope and then steeply to the flat top. Then down south-west to Waun-Lwyd but it was difficult to follow the rights-of-way.Alan Moore16/06/2017
From Nantyglo. Straightforward. With TJBtrimarc202/05/2017
Repeat ascent with Denise. Ascent from Ebbw Vale having left car to fend for itself in the town's multi storey car park (free). Snow on the summit.RichardM28/02/2017
From the free multi storey carpark in central Ebbw Vale, in snow.Trig on summit area, HP very close by. Muddy grass and heather.Denise 27/02/2017
From golf club which apparently is the highest in the UK (really?). Track snakes its way right over the hill which makes you wonder why the motorcrossers feel the need to tear the rest of the hill up. Headed over to the trigpoint which was guarded by a muddy moat and a moo who didnt want to leave. Pillar is in a bit of a state and looking at the flush bracket its clear the damage is deliberate. Ground to the SE looks higher but probably isnt.stig_nest15/09/2016
From Golf Road in Nantyglo up to the summit and back. Fantastic view. With baby Ross.islamidget24/06/2016
Parked in Nantyglo and walked up via track across golf course, then direct to summit. Return via track to east side of hill which gives the best views.Cas-gwent13/04/2016
From off road parking at Coalbrookvale w Jenx. Follow ROW to farm then tracks thru woods and up above landscaped former mine areas. Good zig zag tracks can be found leading to plateau area. Wet and windy on top, nice trig point. back more directly down steep ground top lake and rejoined way in.nordicstar20/02/2016
Not a bad hill. Saw new lambs. The farmer described them as a bit early.jenx20/02/2016
Steep walk straight up from the east into a covering of snow.Neolith15/02/2016
Parked in layby (SO 19442 09150)on A476 just south of Coalbrookvale turn off. Followed footpath Llanerch y-pant then zig-zagged to summit plateau rather than straight up. Steep but safe with care descent towards Chapelhouse then back to van along same footpath.SteveSmith08/01/2016
Part of circular walk along ridges around Ebbw Valeliljonb17/10/2015
Parked near entrance to Golf Course, then followed Bridleway up the hill, turning right before highest point on path.PeterD16/08/2015
Parked at 189105 and took the path generally southward. Good views over 90 minutes. With GB.bolton15/07/2015
Parked on roadside in Nantyglo near end of bridleway at SO19017 10595 – Up wide bridleway for about 2½km & then headed south for about 400m to summit & alternative summit. (PM)gerrybowes15/07/2015
Parked by the clubhouse (18432 10485) then bridalway around golf course and south onto the hill. Top easy to find, just turn right at the dead horse!tim74705/07/2015
As others, Parked near Roundhouse and up through golf course.Lionel Bidwell08/06/2015
Second of the day- between home in Surrey and B&B in Abergavenny. From Round Tower, round the golf course, good track and a quick pathless bit over moorland to the top. Another reasonably pleasant walk to a summit with little effort (3.5 miles/85 mins). Grey afternoon but high cloudpwheeler01/05/2015
As others, parked at round towers, track between fences through golf course.dicky12/04/2015
From road near Roundhouse up track to about 500m short of summit then on to ridge and a pleasant enough heather bash to the top. Returned the same way as the weather set in.SS16/03/2015
Drove up to cottage at SO 17749 09043. Followed road to barn and then a faint path round until came across a torn up track. The locals obviously like to play on their bikes up here. Followed track to highest point then to summit via the secondary summit. From the trig point dropped down NW and picked up an old tram way, which led back to the barn. Down the road back to the car.MikeM12/03/2015
Walked from Coalbrookvale up farm tracks heading south. Then up a snow covered zig zag path to gain the plateau. At the top of this path are deep trenches that may indicate that it will be the site of a landslip in the future. Excellent views from the top on a clear frosty morning. The industrial and housing estates are hidden from view, so you can pretend you are in the wilderness. Short but enjoyable.mindlessflogger08/02/2015
SOTA walk - operated ham radio from summit. Started out from Nantyglo SO 189105.G4OBK (Phil)21/01/2015
Should be nice views but bloody awful weather to day.Ianto&Sue14/12/2014
2/8 Quick walk up from golfclub. Wear helmet as the golfers swings can be wild...great viewsFergalh13/12/2014
My final Marilyn in SE Wales. Parked near chapel to NW, then did a loop via the narrow lakes to the West. A nice hill with good views northwards.huwthomas29/06/2014

Walked up on footpath near Abertillery rugby ground onto the top and approached from S. Very strong winds from W. Ground at base of trig flooded.amarillo-oro-como26/02/2014
From Nantyglo, up and down the same route through the golf course.rhalstead10/01/2014
Walk up from Nantyglo. I went wrong on the ascent where I went through a gate onto the golf course itself luckily it was raining and I went unchallenged. At least this summit has a trig point. The Coity Mountain ridge could do with a few as well!!isabelle29/12/2013
Parked at GR 191102, room for 2 or 3 cars only. Walked up track through middle of golf course to cairn on false summit then continued on grassy path eventually turning to short heather to trig point at summit. Good viewpoint.wombourne12/09/2013
Start~ 189104. Followed good track up through golf course and on to hill, then paths to summit. Warm, cloudy day, with Wombourne.steve hudson12/09/2013
Up the track that goes in between the golf course. Once again good views in all directions. Golf course looked quite interesting too!bowlesy09/06/2013
