Walked straight up from the Coquet Valley after paddling across the river. Started to WNW and went straight up and down. Great viewpoint. Time 27 minutes up and down for 1.2 milesisabelle23/07/2020
Parked south of the river at Shillmoor Bridge. Followed track to summit. Solo.Dangerous Dave13/01/2020

Shortcut up a steep hill, south of Kyloe Shin, joined a track for a short steady climb to Shillhope Law. Continued walk on West side of Usway Burn, some breathtaking views to Shillmoor.RahMah21/08/2019
Parked in Wedder Leap car park/ picnic area across bridge over River Coquet gave cows with calves a wide berth through gate & straight up. About 1hour15 in total.rogreeves28/06/2019
We took the track from Shillmoor over Copper Snout to Saughgy Hill, then a 4x4 track on to Nettlehope Hill, before joining a forestry track heading north through recently felled and newly planted plantation - popping out just shy of Yarnspath Law (heavy heather until reaching a fence line with side path). Westwards and over the Usway burn by a footbridge just north of height 345. Return route was along good tracks, taking in The Middle, Kyloe Shin (great name), Shillhope Law, and Inner Hill. Gentle decline back to the start. Lovely walk, 4 hrs.summitter24/05/2019
With Jo, from Wedder Leap: track over Lounge Knowe to Shillhope Law, then paths to Kyloe Shin and returning along path above Barrow Burn. Weather; cloudy, cold wind, moderate visibility.amblerbob02/05/2019

13.4 mile walk from Wedder Leap car park, Coquetdale, followed road briefly then up onto Hindside Knowe (25m prominence) and along ridge to Swineside Law, passed goats up onto the Pennine Way, out to Mozie Law and Beefstand Hill and back, then onto Windy Rig and Windy Gyle, headed south missing Ward Law down and up onto The Middle and Middle Hill (nearly completely cleared of trees), then along to Kyloe Shin with a final pull up to Shillhope Law then steep descent back to car park. Clear and sunny all day but cold and very windy. Saw a few people all day mainly on Windy Gyle.DanTrig05/11/2017
from SE end of hill, great track all way to summit. Less then 2 hours up and down.IanHHill03/11/2017
Path from Shillmoor. Easy walking apart from one very short tussocky/boggy bit below the summit.AndrewFinnimore06/10/2017
Overnighted up the valley a foul night. Drove back to Wedder Leap and in improving weather yomped up in a half hour. Almost exactly two years ago Id ran out of legs coming off a route on Windy Gyle and Cushat Law so was nice to finally summit this one. Everywhere looks wild from up here. 1/2 marilyns today.stig_nest13/09/2017
Another ascent of this nice marilyn this time with my daughter(6). A lovely day.NorthernWayfarer29/08/2017
Hadn't planned to climb this or noticed before that it's a Marilyn. Feeling tired but a less brutal climb from Wedder Leap than expected. Mist descended just before summit. Met a walker - only the third in two days. On to Kloye Shin.Wycombe Wanderer27/08/2017
From Shillmoor up track. Plenty of parking in the area.Cas-gwent17/07/2017

Drove up the no-through road and parked at NT 88529 07691 and then a straightforward path all the way to the top. The weather seemed to be closing in so I walked straight up and grabbed some caches on the way down.Father Ted15/04/2016
Wedder Leap, Shilhope Law, Saughy Hill (NB FB on old 1:25,000 map at Batailshiel Haugh does not exist, but fortuitously there was a flood-wrecked bridge wedged across the river slightly north of here at the western edge of the enclosed land just south of The Castles - 877104) Nettlehope Hill, Yarnspath Law, The Middle, Middle Hill, Kyloe Shin, Barrowburn Tea Room closed at 4pm before I got there, Wedder Leapijpowell15/04/2016
From Shillmoor up southern flank on tracks and sheep trods returning down main ridge. Beautiful crisp conditions.SS11/02/2016
A good walk & joint SOTA activation with Dave G3TQQ. We heard some firing from nearby army ranges.G4OOE06/02/2016
Part of a splendid walk from Shillmoor. Over Shillhope Law and Kyloe Shin, down to Fairhaugh and back along the Usway Burn. Highly recommended - great views and easy going, a total contrast to the usual bog fests in the Cheviots! There is no bridge at Fairhaugh, so this could be awkward if the river is in spate. In dry conditions, it's dead easy to cross.Gill04/02/2016
2mFM Radio Activation SB-006. Very wet.Petem0hqo28/08/2015
Part of a round of Shillhope Law and Yarnspath Law. Parked in Barrowburn and from there followed tracks to the top of Shillhope Law. Steep descent to the Usway Burn NE of Batalshiel. Over the Castles and track to Clennel Street. Forest tracks to close to Yarnspath Law. Some off track walking over a mix of heather and hummock grass. Hard. Dropped down by edge of forest and crossed Usway Burn again and up to track going to Uswayford. Turned left and followed track and path back to Barrowburn.MikeM05/07/2015
from car park across bridge to the top.robertphillips17/01/2015
From the old schoolhouse. Headed up the steep slope eastwards to the ridge. A surprisingly easy 60 minute walk. With GB.bolton06/01/2015
Wedder Leap car park at 866103 – Crossed the footbridge & climbed up steep slopes to N. ridge – Up N. ridge along 4x4 track to summit. (PM)gerrybowes06/01/2015
Good to be out after a period of inactivity, even though we did this one in fog. Mrs Mindlessflogger had been poorly but struggled to the top. Set off from Shillmoor and came straight down. However it looks good on the map to continue on to Fairhaugh and return via the valley on the east.mindlessflogger29/11/2014
Done first thing, lovely sunny crisp cold day. lovely hill.tallblond09/11/2014

W Jenx. Had climbed before but estimate of summer 1988 not good, that was on an earlier Cheviot challenge, circuit of Kidland forest before return to Alwinton. This trip in cold wet snow and circuit of four hills.nordicstar15/02/2014
From Shillhope - follow the wall and fence round and up until you get to a gate and then strike off up the path at an angle to the left of the fence.clivevilla01/07/2013
Another fine day, drive up a long cul-de-sac.Topographer5728/02/2013
Circular walk starting Shillmoor, also taking in Saughy Hill. Very nice walk - great views dryer underfoot than expected.Crib Goch17/02/2013
Short walk in from old schoolhouse (parking) at Wedder Leap NT 866104. A bitter day with snowfall and the army exploding very loud ordnance on the nearby ranges was a little scary. Accompanied by fellow bagger and wife judy55cat.G4OBK (Phil)13/02/2013
