Scafell and Symonds Knott summits then descended via the grassy West slope. 2nd walk of the day after Morning walk in poor condition on Lingmell, treated to perfect evening conditions on the summits. From Wha House. 16 km, 950 m asc. To Brotherilkeld and along the E side of The river Esk to cross Lincove Bridge. Continue up the E bank and cross opposite the base of Cam Spout. Up the RH side of the Spout and onto and into Foxes Tarn Gully and up to Foxes Tarn. Up the scree to the Cross in the Col, detour to Symonds Knott then SW to Scafell summit. Down the S ridge to Slight Side summit and back by the Catcove Beck path to Wha House. Warm, dry, misty on the tops. https://www.flickr.com/photos/samandjo/albums/72177720300936419SalmonJoe29/07/2022

The ascent of Scafell from Wha House, via Slight Side, Symonds Knott, returning via Slight Side, Great How and Boat How to Boot. A wonderful November day in the Lakes, with a mixture of vivid blue sky and mist drifting around the hills. Even a sighting a splendid Brocken Spectre from Symonds Knott. 21km with 1200m ascent in 7h30m. (S)silveracorn_alan13/11/2021

10.5 mile circular from national trust car park. Followed grassy-sometimes-boggy paths across the wilderness up to the steep pull on Slight Side. From there it is a fairly easy sometimes rocky ridge up to the summit. From the summit we easily bagged Symonds Knott then descended awful loose stone path from just below Scafell summit west; this disappears when the screes finish and turns into pathless boggy moorland. We finally found a path and took it down to Burnmoor Tarn. From there along beck and over Lambford Bridge (in a poor state of repair) along footpath which is rather boggy in places to Eel Tarn then down to the Woolpack Inn and along road back to the car park. Not many people about. The day started sunny as we had great views off summit but as we descended Scafell it went into the cloud. About 1000m ascent on walk.DanTrig28/06/2021

Almost certainly climbed this after Broad Stand back in '02 but fancied it again anyway. Easy rising traverse from High Scarth to hit Scafell footpath. Unfortunately mist all the way although some glimpses of the grand rock scenery. Once at the rimed summit of Scafell the mist briefly clearing. Saw the Brocken Spectre from Scafell and Symonds Knott, followed by Scafell for a minute before the curtains closed. On to Cam Spout Crag.Wycombe Wanderer03/12/2019
With Jago, Steve G, Paul and Easby; from the Pike, dropped down Mickledore and Broad Stand to the waterfall route up to Sca Fell. stopping first at Symonds Knott for a first (recorded) ascent for me.stevem7621/09/2019

From Wha Bridge, Eskdale, via Slight Side and Sca Fell. Very misty on top but Symond's Knott appeared exactly where it was meant to be as I wandered around north of ScaFell. and it was reassuring to see the stones which had been placed on the summit. A long day.ruthatlast04/07/2019

From Scafell summit. Easily identifiable but highest rock debatable between two. And, this is the site to debate the highest lump of rock.Eddie27/10/2017
Started from Wastwater, up the North side of Lingmell Gill, round the side of Lingmell, up the path at GR 2155 0794, Ill Crag, back on same rout to Broad Crag and Sca Fell Pyke (lucky enough to have no clouds on top. On to Symonds Knott (very slow climb as there isn't a path) and Sca Fell. Took the obvious looking path back down, very steep at GR 1917 0674.tsharp09/09/2017
Parked in car park opposite wha house, Cam Spout, Symonds Knott, Scafell, Slight Side. Sunny and fairly warm with excellent clear views from the summits.Fell_wanderer03/09/2017

Nuttall Walk EN 5.1 The Scafells from Wasdale Head. Lingmell, Middleboot Knotts, Round How, Great End, Ill Crag, Broad Crag, Scafell Pike, Scafell and Symonds Knott. 16.6km with 1500m ascent in 8h30m (S)silveracorn_alan03/06/2017
Start ~ Brackenclose Car Park. Took a little used route up Hollow Gill on to Green How, a path appears around 600m if you can find it. It takes you straight to the top of Scafell but is somewhat gruelling! Detoured to Symonds Knott before descending south to Slight Side. Continued down before swinging West down Brown Tongue to the Burnmoor Tarn Track to return.steve hudson21/07/2016

From Wasdale Head car park- Scafell, Symonds Knott, Scafell Pike & Lingmell. I was asked for directions three times by semi-lost walkers... Two conclusions: there are clearly a lot of novices tackling Scafell Pike, and I must look like I know what I'm doing.Cas-gwent05/07/2016
19th and penultimate top of the Day on the 4th leg of my alternative Bob Graham's round from the New Dungeon Ghyll hotel in Langdale.
