The Classic Grisedale Pike and Eel Crags ridges, all of them visiting 11 Wainwrights, along with 4 minor peaks. Parked in Braithwaite, then up Grisedale Pike via Kinn, and along the ridge visiting Hobcarton Crag, Hopegill Head, Gasgale Crags, and both Whiteside summits. Back to Hopegill Head and over Sand Hill and down to Coledale Hause. Then up Grasmoor, and back along the ridge to Wandope, and up to the impressive Eel Crag. Then down the Causey Pike ridge via Sail and Scar Crags, before cutting across to Outerside. Walked up Gasgale Gill from the road at the NE end of Crummock water. Quite an interesting walk up a rocky track, with a few clambers over steep rocks. path getting washed away in places by the Gill. 4km along the valley from the road up to Calderdale Hause. Started at Braithwaite, walked along Cole Dale up to Grasmoor, then across to Wandope, up to Crag Hill (Eel Crag), back down to Coledale Hause, up to Hopegill Head via Sand Hill and along ridge to Grisdale Pike over Hobcarton Crag, then down lose path over Kinn then back down to Braithwaite. From Whinlatter pass in a clockwise circuit. The ascent was easy enough once through the forest and thereafter paths were excellent. Round in under 6 hours beating Naismith by nearly 30 mins. A really good day - shame about the road walk back.	SS	20/05/2012
