A circular route over boggy ground starting at Rosthwaite. Along the valley track past the Stonethwaite, up Greenup Gill, before branching off to the right for Eagle Crag. Then along the ridge to Sergeant's Crag and up the small track to the right of Long Crag, then traversing above it to Greenup Edge. North along the Central Fells ridge over Ullscarf, and down by Standing Crag. Then across very boggy ground (wet feet) parallel to the fence over Watendlath Fell to Shivery Knott. Then a beeline for Armboth Fell, visiting both the Wainwright and Birkett tops. Then up another marshy track over High Tove, and back to Rosthwaite via Watendlath. 22km with 1000m ascent in 7h 40m.silverwolf_alan26/08/2023

13 Birkets after 4 weeks no rain - bone dry apart from (thankfully) a few springs. Road all closed off, so a bit of a trudge along the road after Fisher Crag back to start at Steel End carpark. Hd hoped to drop off bike at descent point to road.Dave Sargent13/06/2023
Solo from Rosthwaite passing Smithymire Island, then ascending via Lining Crag to Greenup Edge (NY 285 105). From there north-ish on a track roughly following a line of old iron fence posts to the summit cairn. Not an exciting summit but excellent views.ADT20/05/2023

A rather wet walk (underfoot) exploring the northern part of the Central Fells from Ashness Bridge, visiting Walla Crag, Bleaberry Fell, High Seat, High Tove, Armboth Fell (W + B summits), Shivery Knott, Watendlath Fell, Bell Crags, Ullscarf, High Saddle, Low Saddle, Great Crag, Grange Fell (Brund Fell). 27.6km with 1200m ascent in 8h40m. (S)silveracorn_alan31/08/2020
From Sergeants Crag we skirted underneath the cliffs and rocks of High Raise to make our way to the head of Greenup Gill and near Lining Crag. After a short rest (and another sandwich) we started our boggy ascent of Ullscarf. From here this was an easy ascent and we quickly made it to the summit cairn. We passed this just to get views of Derwent and Bassenthwaite before going back to the cairn and getting pictures etc. 200 NOW COMPLETE and another book (central). We didn’t hand around. We made it back to Lining Crag and followed the never-ending valley back down to the car. Feet in bits and lots of pain from our 1st proper multi fell walk this year but felt fantastic. Home for a Chinese, beer and you know what!Scotty 2 Hotty03/08/2020
Easy walk up with Izzy from Dob Gill car park. Great views but summit flat and nondescript. Went back over Blea Tarn Fell.isabelle29/07/2020
