My fourth Wainwright round of Pike O'Blisco and Lingmoor Fell from the ODG. More challenging and interesting were diversions en route to Wrynose Fell (Long Crag), Blake Rigg, Kettle Crag, Side Pike, and Oakhowe Crag along the way. Quite rough and often pathless ground. So only 16 km with 1100m ascent, but it still took me 8 hours to complete. A lovely sunny morning with stunning views of Bowfell et al, but a chill with low cloud and scattered showers came in during the afternoon.silverwolf_alan05/11/2023
Parked at NT ODG. Nuttal walk 5.3. Circuit around Pike o'Blisco, Great Knott, Cold Pike, Cold Pike W Top, Cold Pike Far W Top, Little Stand, Crinkle Crags S Top, Crinkle Crags Long Top, Shelter Crags, Shelter Crags N Top and White Stones just off the Band. Repeat visit for some of these from student days Breezy and in/out of cloud all day but enjoyable return visit to Langdale after many years. Solorichard6925/09/2023

Wow, what weather; One of the clearest days in the Lakes ever. Hard snow on the tops, which was in the main lovely to walk on. Made our way up via brownsey Gill to Pike o Blisco where we managed to meet with dad who was making his way to Coniston. From there we headed to Cold Pike, across the Middle towards crinkle crabs via the bad step. Lunch at the top, then Baz and I nipped over to Bowfell and grabbed that, whilst the other returned to old dungeon gill via the band. Baz and I followed after them as too much ice at the top to risk the climbers traverse. Great day walking with Baz, Lyndon, Andy, Stu, Dan unfortunately Matt had to duck out last minute due to a dodgy tummy!Jim Baz18/11/2019

. I walked along the road past Wall End and turned off on the path which climbed steeply beside Redacre Gill. It was stepped most of the way to the shoulder of Wrynose Fell when Pike of Blisco became visible to the right. It seemed to take some time to reach the actual summit as there was some scrambling to do, and I was there an hour and a half after leaving the car. A feature of today was that all five summits had at least two tors of approximately equal height: here, as I was to do with the remainder, I left nothing to chance and climbed both.peter4lc23/05/2015

Climbed pike of blisco 706m, after hard morning at work, climbed with cousin josh, such a good laugh all the way up as we went of the path to summit quicker! it was extremely windy during the summit. we sat just below the summit, on the right hand side looking over the beautiful valley of the langdales! we sat for over an hour looking at the amazing view. until we realised the weather was going to start coming in, so we rushed back down to hard Knott pass. pretty easy climb for the route from hard knott pass, if wanted to challenge selves more langdales would be your route. xJade502/07/2014

Day exped. Group 5 adults. Ian Lowe (aka Toffee) leading. Day 1: Departed New Dungeon Ghyll for Pike of Blisco (705) via Wrynose Fell, Great Knott, Long Top (859), Crinkle Crags (815); Shelter Crags to Three Tarns. Over Bow Fell (902) to Ore Gap dropping down to campsite over Angle Tarn. Extremely Hot and heavy going due to heat and water consumption. Day 2: Returned to Dungeon Ghyll via Rosset Gill picking up the Cumbria Way. Heavy blustery showers, light to moderate N/E wind. Vis good with patchy could cover. We piled into the Chippy in Ambleside on the way back to the centre, which was full when we arrived. By the time we got to the front of the que the place was empty. We did stink to be fair ;)Butty26/06/2005

My first 2000 foot mountain. Age 17 in a group of 12 on a school day trip form Maghull, with friends Chaz & Gillee led by Mr Griecco - a keen teacher. The only hillwalking trip he ever organised however! From ODG up via Brown How down via Kettle Crag.Slippery snow and ice encountered - no axes of course and a range of questionable clothing and footwear across the group. I was well equipped with boots and was carrying a 'survival kit' in an old drinking choc tin. Gillee in trainers kept falling over on the slippery snow descent. I was instantly hooked on climbing mountains Have since climbed this lovely shapely rocky hill 12 times - day and nightChris Pearson16/03/1980
