O: Height recorded at base of cairn. It's the first time in ages that my GPS reading agrees with the surveyed height within one SD. All other summits I have recorded about 3m - 6m higher than the surveyed heights. GPS sea level reading - +0.25 +/- 0.5m.

Parked at Wythburn Church (payment by coin only). Cold winds with snow at the top, with good views to Scotland and Morecambe bay. Then a steep descent to Swirls car park and walk back along Thirlmere in glorious sunshine.edmundjohnson16/04/2024

YHA Helvellyn -> Whiteside -> Helvellyn -> Whiteside -> Raise -> YHA Helvellyn. The Met Office promised the clouds would lift, which they never did, entirely. But great views to the North and West particularly. With all the family.Ham and Skate04/04/2024

On a walk from Thirlmere to Ambleside, via Helvellyn and Fairfield. Watched sunset from the top of Fairfield before continuing to Ambleside by torchlight.alistairpooler25/11/2023
With Izzy and Margo. From Striding Edge. Stuck to the sunlit crest where there was no ice. Margo's chest harness proved once again invaluable to get her through a few tougher sections. Missed the Dixon memorial. Not bad going at all and superb 360 views. Surprisingly mild on the summit with no wind whatsoever. Didn't feel like 10 years since I was last here. Onto Catstye Cam.James McKnight25/11/2023

Climbed from Wythburn with a loop of Striding and Swirral Edges added, arriving at summit shortly before sunset. Wild camp just below summit. Fine weather but with cloud and rain arriving as night progressed and rumbles of thunder in distance. Pay & display machine at Wythburn not currently operational so parked for free.southern_rambler10/06/2023
