Great way to spend your birthday. A fantastic day running Leg 2 of the Bob Graham with Brett and Mark. Cloudy throughout the day, with soft snow and some ice on the tops, visibility very poor, but not bad enough to need to take bearings. One missed top (Watson’s Dodd) so had to recip. Very tough section, out and back to Fairfield, wanted to give up! Jonesy ran out of water but decided not to mention this to us. 5hrs 41minutes for the leg, with a distance of 15.5 miles so not in the right ball park to take on the full challenge...yet. Cough head, great Dodd, Watson’s Dodd, stybarrow Dodd, raise, white side, helvellyn LM, Helvellyn, nethermost pike, dollywaggon pike, Fairfield, and seat sandal.Jim Baz17/11/2019

With brother and his wife, WB and Dave, Catherine. Another hot day. From Glenridding to Helvellyn via Striding Edge, then to Grisedale Hause (welcome swim in tarn) then contourd across to St Sunday Crag. Fairly quiet on hills. Long walk for the heat. Welcome pint at bottom.niallp04/07/2018
From Patterdale YHA via Nethermost Pike East Ridge, then Neethermost Pike, High Crag & Dollywaggon Pike. Had the East Ridge to ourselves, and it was a fun ascent from which to laugh at the queues on Striding Edge. However, getting to it via Nethermost Cove involved an unpleasant amount of steep pathless bracken-bashing - maybe Ruthwaite Cove and Hard Tarn are now a better way onto the ridge? Nethermost Pike summit is a bit of a dull barren plain, albeit one with some good lunch rocks.wheresthepath24/06/2018

It was an early start from Glenridding. I parked for £3 in the Sports field and headed up the lane, before turning left to the path up to Birks. There were still Bluebells out and the views down to Ullswater were superb as there was a thin layer of mist in the valley. It was a slog to the summit of Birks before it became easier to St Sunday Crag. Nice to have it to myself on this summit and the views were stunning. I descended to Deepdale Hause and cut around Grisedale Tarn to the steep climb to Seat Sandal. The views West were great in the soft rather misty light all the main peaks were a dark silhouette against the milky sky. I headed north and straight up the wall to the cairn at the edge of the cliffs on Dollywaggon Pike. It was then an easy walk over Nethermost Pike and on to the summit of Helvellyn where I had 5 minutes on my own. I continued along Striding Edge which was much easier than I imagined with no difficulties to the summit of High Spying How.isabelle01/06/2018
