Swindale Foot > Swindale Head > Selside Pike > High Howes > Branstree > Tarn Crag > Grey Crag > Harrop Pike > Little Mosedale Beck > Swindale Head > Swindale Foot. Just me and H. Beautiful morning and walking in sunshine up to Selside Pike. Clag came in after that and remaining tops had at best Hazy very restricted views. Typically cloud broke up when descending by Little Mosedale Beck.johnkaysleftleg26/08/2019

TC, EC, Pete & Alfie Day trip to Sadgill from Lincoln - long day after getting up at 3.45am and getting home at 10pm. Great weather for walking. Starting to feel the pain by now!TopCat195903/08/2019
Parked Sadgill, up the Gatesgarth Pass track and swung round and up behind Tarn Crag, bit of a slog. Then over to Harrop Pike and back to Grey Crag. Dropped down to Great Howe and back to car. Hot sweaty day again.Mark T14/07/2019

A nice walk from Sadgill. The field by the parking spot is not mapped as open access but the farmer told me it's fine to go through the gate and there's a stile top left corner of the field. A good, tidy path leads up beside a grassy stream way, then heads right to another stile. An ATV track heads up over Great Howe, then it's easiest to go off piste to cut across the stream diagonally upwards below Grey Crag to the summit (unless you want to bag these Wainwright things as well). It's nice (and very easy) heading north down the fence to the head of Mosedale, then west and back down the River Sprint, great views all the way.Gill20/06/2018

From Mardale Head, Haweswater: Selside Pike, Branstree, Tarn Crag, Grey Crag, Harrop Pike. Beautiful hot May Bank holiday weekend. Went to the Punch Bowl in Askham village for a meal afterwards.Lazylizzie06/05/2018
From Grey Crag we took the short but very very wet and boggy 1 mile to Tarn Crag summit. Not the most enjoyable section of mountain but quickly got to the 2nd summit of the day and an excellent summit with a survey post at the top. From here followed the path down and back into the valley which led us down the never ending Gatescarth path back to the car. Cracking start to our 6 days off.Scotty 2 Hotty02/05/2018

Final fell on a Birkett bagging day. Up from Sadgill via Great Howe, Grey Crag and Harrop Pike. Also bonus of a Simpson 2000 footer en route with a short detour to Tarn Crag South Top. Easy, but faint, direct path running SW from fence above the boggy Greycrag Tarn area. Snack at summit then north-west to Mosedale pass then Brownhowe Bottom and old quarry track by river to car. Used paths whole route, too boggy on these fells to attempt more direct routes. Home then straight out for curry night and well earned pint at our local, The Royal in Penrith.Hillsidenick02/11/2017
