Waking up very stiff after doing my 1st park run the day before (38.01) I picked Bec up from her dads where she stayed to look after Ronnie. We made our way to a very quiet lane and parked on the grass verge. Setting off we went wrong almost straight away and had to drop down and take a more direct route over Fisher High, high bracken and dead heather made it a tough walk, we passed a stone age cairn and reached the great cairn at the summit. Great views of the old man and out to coast. From there were hacked our way down the pathless bracken before crossing a river and find a path too beacon tarn. I made bacon butties for me and Myla and Bec had a swim in the freezing water. We took the easy path to the car and went for a quick pint of loweswater gold at the Wilson bar in Torver before heading back to the Royal oak in riley green for Sunday dinner after the Lindale put was full. I got home to my new smart watch and chilled watching the detectoristsScotty 2 Hotty17/09/2023
From Fisher High. The clear paths mentioned below, were covered in parts with bracken and heather so tough going. Then onto Green How sometimes on path but mainly on rough ground. Down to west and road.trimarc212/09/2022

A fine late afternoon walk from the junction of the Green Moor track and the dead end road from Woodlands. First to Yew Bank by the track to the SW of the summit, then by a series of paths through the bracken on its western slopes. On past the cairn to Fisher High, descending to the Cumbrian Way, before climbing again to Wool Knott, then a slow descent through bracken and bog to the path to Green Moor Farm.Nick Down106/09/2020

Good parking end of minor road at Haveriggholme. Excellent track to SD 2593 9102, whence unmapped track leads off NE then swings round due S to the top. Prob worth sticking with as hillside is a bracken-fest - dead now but still easier on a track. Trig bolt supposedly up there, at the smaller cairn, but nothing found.jonglew09/12/2019

WOs 11,12,13,14 and 15. Another lovely sunny day. Walked from Birch Bank Farm campsite to Giant's Grave, then over Blawith Knott and Tottlebank Heights. Continued over Wool Knott, then horrendous fight through pathless bracken to Yew Bank and back to do Beacon Fell (gorgeous views) before descending to Beacon Tarn and back to the campsite - a great day out apart from the bracken (complete with ticks).BURGESS16/07/2017

Clear paths throughout although a little vague in places, lots of road walking in between Blawith Knott & Burney and also in between Combs & Yew Bank. Walked from Brown Howe on my own. Warm but hazy The walk from Wool Knot to this summit is a bit boggy in places and I wouldn't recommend wearing shorts to walk up the narrow path through the heather. I did and my legs were covered in scratches. The walk is definitely worth it for the wonderful views of the Coniston Fells.flockwatcher10/04/2015
