From Burnhope reservoir, Nuttall walk 10.1: Three Pikes (hideous boggy mess),Great Stony Hill, Harwood Common, Burnhope Seat Trig and true summit, and Dead Stones. Good walking weather, cool with good visibility. This is a really tough walk due to the terrain (peat hags, heather & bog) and long sections with no paths.Lazylizzie25/08/2022
En route to Burnhope Seat from Kilhope Cross. Paths nice and dry and able to bounce through the peat hags without deviation. Fine and sunny and the ideal time to be up here with a nice breeze on the tops. Only saw one person all day just past the cairn here.Walker Dan11/08/2022
Four tops in three short walks. First Round Hill from Tynehead road end, easy going. Then drove round to Flinty Fell from North, located unmarked summit with OS Locate. Then round to do Burnhope Seat and Dead Stones via the ski tow. This last also easy going but it would have been a different matter after a wet spell I suspect.dickscroop07/07/2022

From Burnhope reservoir,Three Pikes,Great Stony Hill, Harwood Common, Burnhope Seat and Dead Stones. 5.5 hours, overcast but no mist.Longwojo13/06/2022
Quick out & back from Burnhope Seat trig with J.NotReallyABagger22/05/2022
My penultimate summit on day 4 of a 6 day backpack. I approached via Burnhope Seat and the walk in was much easier than I had anticipated it would be. Windy at the summit.morgs4mountains24/03/2022
Very easy walk from Nenthead. Carried on to Ashgill, up the skiing to Burnhope Seat. And horrible walk along to Dead Stones, Nag's Head, Knoutberrry Hill and back to Nenthead. Take gaiters next time! 12.5m all round.NCurtis26/02/2022
Circular walk from parking at Killhope Cross. Down to old workings, Priorsdale, Little Gill Hush, Burnhope Seat hp & trig, Dead Stones and Knoutberry Hill. Overcast, misty at times. With Gillian, Graham and Selwynrichard6914/11/2021
With Kay, out and back from Killhope Cross to Dead Stones, about 8k in total. Going was excellent after the dry weather, 2 hrs return.PDR36522/09/2021
From burnhope reservoir up the causeway track then across to burnhope west and down via high watch currick. Mostly an uninspiring bit trot would hate to be here when the ground is sodden as it was mostly dry and I still had to avoid bogs. The little shelter here was at least interestingemily18/09/2021
From pt 627 (Killhope Cross) on the A689. Not as bad as it could have been. The mapped track on the E side of the wall, isnt. A promising thin rough path on the W side of the wall becomes intermittent, interspersed with oodles of lurid yellow-green bog, hags and self-levelling lakes of black peat. Sections of good going keep spirits up. Not sure which is worse a) the next 50 m of fence ahead receding infinitely into fog or b) the fog lifting and exposing the full horror of the distance to cover. High P nice weather? pah! Cold wind, low cloud and mizzle, drizzle, rain, all day - its a Bank Holiday!Isbjorn29/08/2021

With Sue and NB from parking area at Kilhope Cross, follow border boundary line to Knoutberry, Nags Head and Dead Stones. Surprisingly dry. Came back followed fence and followed West side from Knoutberry on better ground to start.Frank01/06/2021
From minor road to NWconanharrod31/05/2021
A 22 kilometre hike from Killhope Cross via Nag's Head, Dead Stones, the south end of Perry's Dam, Flinty Fell, Nenthead, Dykeheads, The Dodd, Coalcleugh, Shivery Hill, Killhope Law and the county boundary back to Killhope Cross.Clach Liath16/04/2021
Starting at the layby Grid 799.432, follow the wall South keeping to the wall or fence line. Knoutberry Hill. Nags Head and Dead Stones, return the same way. Moorland, boggy, peat Hags.smocks and denims10/03/2021
Cairn, pile of stones and a small stone shelter all on top. Lovely place to visit.2510chris26/02/2021
From high point on road to north. Mist and murk. Luckily much of the ground was frozen. With Bryher. Rick met us at the top.jenx28/11/2020

From Nag's Head. Terrain slightly better now. Leant on the cairn (which was moving in the wind) to make a phone call and returned to car. An unenjoyable 6km walk on top of the unremarkable 22km walk earlier but it beats being at work and I've collected another eight tops.Wycombe Wanderer09/09/2020
From Nags Head. Descent diagonally across tussock moor to Priorsdale, the. Down through mines to Nenthead.Jim T29/08/2020

from Nenthead via Perry's Dam and Nag's Head [which sounds more like a pub than a hill] en route to Burnhope Seat.IanHHill03/08/2020

Walked up lane from Ireshopeburn to join Nuttalls route 10:1 to Three Pikes, Great Stony Hill, Harwood Common, Burnhope Seat and Dead Stones.dgresty21/07/2020
Cowshill to Middlehope Moor via High Greenfield. Along county boundary to Stangend Rigg to Killhope Law. Continue along county boundary Black Hill Quarries to The Dodd. Return to public footpath (Isaacs Tea Trail) and descent to Dykeheads and Nenthead. Out to Nenthead Lead Mine and ascent via public footpath to Flinty Fell. Descent to track and follow track to Perry Dam. Ascent to Nags Head and on to Dead Stones. Return to Cowshill via Lambs Head, Highwatch Currick and Cleugh Head.raymooremanx11/07/2020
Parked at top of forestry. Track from NY 7776 4063 leads to an ATV track, which goes to the fence on the ridgeline about 500m South of summit.PGCE17/05/2020
Parked at NY 77891 40661 at cattle grid on dead end minor road to Priorsdale. Straight line up beside Hunters Cleugh and fence and then up to large perpendicular cairn. One hour up and down. Good route.Campbell Singer05/01/2020
From Nenthead. Followed track through the mine complex then followed the fences to the summit. Terrain was a mix of heather and bog. Weather was horrendous, high winds, horizontal rain, and clag. I had intended on bagging more summits but weather forced me back. The shelter at the top was a welcome break from the wind and rain but visibility and temperature were reducing rapidly and the water had penetrated my waterproofs and boots.NorthernWayfarer04/01/2020
Parking area at bottom of ski slope. Up past ski lift to BurnhopeSeat trig. Then out and back to Harwood Common and out and back to Dead Stones and Nags Head. Lots of boggy ground, peat hags and tussocks. Made sure of Burnhope Seat on return and the cairn. Some views over to Cross and tghe Dun fells but hazy. Bit of a slog.mart079725/07/2019
As per Nuttalls' 10.1 minus Three Pikes. Lovely clear day and vey dry underfoot.milimana23/05/2019
From Reservoirlenman04/05/2019
From parking spot at Killhope Cross. Followed fenceline south to Dead Stones, picking up several HB and non-HB tops. Then due east to Dead Stones E Top and Highwatch Currick (both non-HB hills). Lot of wet ground and masses of peak hags after couple of days of rain.jonglew06/03/2019
With G. From Ashgill Bridge then minor road at Mid Ashgill to access land just south of Harelaw Hill. Followed boundaries > Burnhope Seat > Burnhope Seat Trig > Dead Stones. Headed west / WSW to pick up good track at Little Gill Hush then back on minor road to Ashgill.RT197023/02/2019
From Burnhope Reservoir, Nuttalls route without Three Pikes. Sunny but very wet underfootGary Heath17/02/2019
From top of Ashgill Wood via Flinty Fell.Winterfloodian17/07/2018
10 mile walk from Ashgill Bridge, down to lovely waterfall then along river S. Tyne to Tynehead farm, took footpath up then ascended Burnhope Seat to road then through ski tows to featureless summit and after trig, followed ridge to Dead Stones then along to Nags Head rise, descended to Perrys dam and picked up quarry track, rough route across to Flinty Fell, from there headed back to quarry track then barely used footpath back to Ashgill Bridge. Great sunny day with breeze and great views, at the moment very easy to walk because all bogs are dry, would hate to do this walk after a lot of rain.DanTrig29/06/2018

From Cowshill via Highwatch Currick. Easy going up to Highwatch Currick then rough. Maybe staying by the fence is not the best route? Saw mountain hare in full winter garb. Most enjoyable in fine weathertrimarc220/02/2018
