No sign of any RoW under the snow - mainly cross-country through the heather but the odd bit of track. Should have taken the snowshoes! | nicolajane | 03/03/2024 |
Second Nuttall of 2024 with Dave, Jim and Rick. Great scenery on this walk today, and some interesting buildings to look at. | simocity | 14/01/2024 |
Water Crag and Rogans Seat from track along william gill. | robertphillips | 24/11/2023 |
From Keld: Rogan's Seat and Water Crag. Easy walk past Crackpot Hall on broad grouse tracks. Path to Water Crag by the fence was faint and very boggy. Extremely poor visibility, freezing fog throughout the day. Returned the same way due to the poor conditions. | Lazylizzie | 28/10/2023 |
Solo from Tan Hill after I missed it out last time. Tough going over grouse moor. Back to Tan Hill to camp. | dchill01 | 12/07/2023 |

After Tan Hill | conanharrod | 07/04/2022 |
From Tan Hill Inn. Bridleway peters out after 0.5km so made a beeline through heather and sponge. Followed the fence for a bit on the way back but not much better and plenty of peat hags. It might be worth using the track further east but is more ascent and still a heather hack higher up. Had a pint at the Tan Hill Inn a) because it's the Tan Hill Inn and b) to celebrate my all-lists Yorkshire Dales NP compleation. Was an underwhelming experience; plastic cups only outside for 'safety' reasons so drank in the fly-infested bar with loud and inappropriate music playing. The beer was nowt special either. Not a great end to a couple of pleasant days. | Wycombe Wanderer | 25/08/2021 |

from Tan Hill Inn - hard going, maybe I missed the path! With Rogan Seat | jef | 26/05/2020 |
From 936073 via William Gill.Good track but the stream was in spate and I had to paddle through 4 inches of water where the path fords the stream. Then about a km of rough heathery pathless ground to get to the summit.
My final English Nuttall, but not a compleation,as I won't be doing Pillar Rock. | andy63 | 02/10/2019 |
Up to Rogans Seat from Gunnerside, across to the nearby trig point and then around to Pinhope Seat. | Eggletina | 08/08/2019 |
Drove the track to NY 9203 0581, deteriorates over last 500m, 4x4 mainly needed for ground clearance. Good walking track from there to grouse butts whence rough heather/grass moorland. | jonglew | 26/07/2019 |
Outstanding route from Muker through the meadows, along Swaledale and up Swinner Gill before heading along shooting tracks to close to the summit then across to Water Crag a la Nuttalls but went back down the same way. Just over 4 hours round trip. | clivevilla | 11/09/2018 |

Pretty much as per Nuttall's 11.3, though messed up by crossing Gunnerside Gill too early which added unnecessary effort onto an already long day. | milimana | 18/04/2018 |
Keld - Pennine Way to Catrake Force - West Wood - Crackpot Hall (Ruin) - Swinner Gill Lead Mines (Ruins)- rose onto moor along East Grain (recently repaired path thanks) - then Coast to Coast path - taking the buff coloured track just past the C to C double headed sign heading for summit past the High Man Stone - Rogan Seat summit- then overshot to follow fence (Snowy drifts /low cloud) to bag trig on Water Crag. Retraced our snowy footprints back to the track and returned whence we came. | briandavies | 18/02/2018 |

Water Crag and Rogan's Seat from Tan Hill Inn. | lenman | 01/05/2017 |
Rogan's Seat and Water Crag. More or less followed route 11.3 from the Nuttall's book with the exception of going up to Crackpot hall (which still has a pan on the cooker even though it was abandoned in 1953) and also, on the way down I didn't notice the instructions to keep below Lord Peel's shooting cabin but I found another path that took me down to Blakethwaite Lead Mines and crossed the river there. Grouse shooting was going on at Swinner Gill and there were dead grouse on the track, one of which was not as dead as the others which I didn't like. Had lunch in the shooting hut at GR NY 922024 (thanks for leaving it unlocked, Lord Peel's cabin was locked). Had just become dark when I eventually got back to Muker. | tsharp | 10/01/2017 |

From Muker following the Nuttall's route. | rhalstead | 01/05/2016 |
