Quick out and back from the road.tomd420/04/2018
Cycled from Cow Green c/p via old miners track to NW to second mine ruin at NY 783 327. Left bike and walked to high point. Cairn made of flat stones with 1m long pole made locating the top quite simple.John Lee04/11/2017

I stopped on the B6277 near Crookburn Bridge and climbed Viewing Hill. There were maybe only 150 feet of ascent once the old mine track had been left.peter4lc06/05/2017
Walked from the road on my own. Dry and pleasant. A bit breezy but the wind wasn't cold so it was fine.flockwatcher30/04/2017
