Walk along the Wrekins on nice sunny day hazy but far reaching viewsiannotts23/09/2023
Parked at the Wrekin car park (£4 all day) near the m54, and followed half a country walking magazine route. Enjoyed that it skirted the hill to the east before the steep climb from the south, instead of just tip and down the wide, boring north route. Great views. With my LOST team.gbeniston15/08/2023
Whilst working away from home a short evening walk on one of Shropshire's prominent summits. Used for navigation practice. Overcast clouds, 14°C, Feels like 14°C, Wind 10mph from WSW, visibility >6mihiglett14/08/2023
We parked at the bottom and ran around the wrekin before going up. A clear sky and thankfully it was breezy at the top as it was quite warm. Great views and an enjoyable run!explorewithpaws30/07/2023
We parked in the car park, and just went up the main path, it rained a bit but we had a lovely day.JMB24630/06/2023
Ascended main route from Wrekin Forest Carpark to summit. c.3 hours round trip.JXNJP30/06/2023
Walked up from the Forest Glen car park. Grey, cold wind, a complete contrast from the day before but thankfully not hot on the climb. Great views and a scramble about on the rocks as wellekm31/05/2023

Parked in car park to the N, closest to M54. Up onto ridge and along to Ercall hp. Descended around northern edge of quarry and up zigzag path of next quarry to Lawrence's Hill. Descent to main Wrekin car park and usual ascent route to Wrekin trig and hp to the north. Return retracing steps to road and along road to car park. Sunny day with good views and lots of people out.richard6922/10/2022
From usual carpark. Solo on way home from WK on return from Kinder day-walk. Gentle pace on a hazy dry morning. The trig pillar has been repainted and tiled plinth installed.Skip31/08/2022
With daugther Tilly. Parked at main car park (£1 per hour or £4 for 4 hrs+), though if you get there early there's plenty free parking on nice layby few steps away.mazz22/08/2022
Circuit from north, around fishing pond, trig and summit very busy, climbed needles eye - this and adjacent rocks covered in broken glass. Litter everywhereNick Canute07/08/2022
From the car park, very warm, very busy.iangalbraith08/07/2022
The usual 4 Bag tour from the main car park - The Wrekin, Lawrence's Hill, The Ercall and Maddock's Hill. A surprisingly popular place at 8am on a Sunday morning.summitter29/05/2022

From the roadside parking on way to WK as a warm-up for the Howgills weekend. Early afternoon, sunny weather, gentle pace. First time I noticed the power station has been demolished.Skip18/03/2022
Wrekin Walk - Short sharp ascent up The Wrekin with good views over ShropshireJazDisney26/02/2022
1/4 From Buckatree Hotel, walked up the tourist route to The Wrekin on a sunny day, then from base of hill curved South East to take footpaths to Maddocks Hill, Lawrences Hill and The Ercall making a pleasant circuit of about 8 miles. Nice early spring walk not too muddy.nickywood104/02/2022
Up the usual route from the carpark while travelling to WK for birthday. Dull afternoon, hazy weather, very muddy. Slower pace than usual.Skip22/01/2022
Went up the route on the northern side that emerges at the summit and back down the bird-box path. A lovely sunny end to the day with terrific visibility.andrewcoles04/11/2021
From car park to the NE with Isabel & Olivia, and Jim, Adam, Laura and kids. Took the traversing path through the woods on the NW side of the fell before ascending up the steep SW ridge. Visited trig point and true summit. Descended by way of the NE ridge, stopping off at the cafe on route for ice cream and coffee.alistairpooler09/10/2021
Parked in a layby near the car park to the NE. Met a man on top who was on his 60th consecutive day of climbing this hill (in 2018 he did over 180 days)paulhilder23/08/2021
Got off the train at Wellington, walked round the Ercall, up over the Wrekin, down the other side and back around the base.Jael Break16/08/2021
Parked at the clearly marked car park and a fairly steel climb up to the summit. Sadly the half way cafe is no longer in business as a tea would have been most welcome! Many others doing the climb, fairly busy but ample spots to park.jamiequackers06/08/2021
Some people around but relatively quiet. Made my way over from Wellington, up and through the Ercall before beginning the Wrekin climb.HWBY25/06/2021
From Car park - bit hazy but still great views. The Playful Pig22/06/2021
Ghastly, sooo many cars, sooo many people at the main CP at SJ638092. Saving grace is that it is a big lump to absorb them and thin them out. Up the main drag of the NE ridge, down SW ridge and back along E traverse through woods with cavorting grey squirrels, occasionally a mountain bike churned up mudfest. The mapped public toilets at the main CP do not exist - 'go' before you arrive.Isbjorn12/04/2021
Wonder around the woods and to the submit. First time meeting with R’s family after the lockdown.Dan Baddeley11/04/2021

3rd tump of 6 on a route from Ironbridge to Wellington, climbing Strethill followed by the long walk to Charlton hill then on road to Upper Longwood then continuing. I took the fp into the conifer plantation then a forest track onto Shropshire Way with very steep pull up to craggy outcrop then pass Trig pillar to true summit. Fantastic views. Descent on main N Easterly route heading for Maddocks hill...Dazingdale15/03/2020

Conveniently happened to be staying at Buckatree Hall Hotel which is right next door so took an early morning hike to the summit. Enjoyed the walk and chatted to some friendly people along the way!Gerry the Ranger21/02/2020

Was down in Wellington for a wedding and asked the family about good walks in the area. So went up with some of them the following day to clear the hangover. Lovely scenery on a winter's day. Clear views for miles around at the summit.richie_macdonald01/12/2019
Cloudy damp day, ascend from the southern side and descend from the main northern route.brandybordeaux27/11/2019
From CP in the rain, sleet and snow. No view on top.Andrew Pearson09/11/2019
Met Lindsey on her way home from Dorset. We walked my usual route on a cloudy afternoon. Spent half-hour at the summit and Needle's Eye rocks until drizzle blew in from Wales obscuring the views. Tea in The Huntsman pub. Then drove to WK.Skip02/09/2019
Early start from the Wrekin CP up the tourist route to the true summit then onto the trig point. Lots of cars in the CP but no one at the summit area? Carried on along the ridge returning along the low level path 5m total.Jephcote8331/08/2019
