Earlier today, in fantastic visibility, I climbed Bredon Hill, and the masts at Cleeve Hill were clearly visible and enticing! I drove to Cleeve Hill Golf Club off the summit of the B4632 where one can park for free if you purchase refreshments in excess of £2. A very pleasant 6 Km walk over the golf course heading for the transmitter masts, then 400m along the fence to the Trig Pillar. A very emotional time for me as I had previously visited this summit with my darling wife some years ago as the highest point in Gloucestershire, on my way to summitting all of England's County Tops. Sue passed away suddenly six months ago, and I miss her so much. Always love you, Sue xxxxDartmoorman23/09/2023
Walked from Cheltenham Racecourse through Prestbury and Noverton, then into fields. Very muddy and thorny footpath route from Noverton Lane. Reached top covered in mud, decent views of Cheltenham on the way up.hillbagger9123/09/2023
afternoon 4 mile walk from Quarry car park. Didn't realise the second trig point encountered was the summit until afterwards! Not too wet, but views were curtailed by mists.gbeniston21/04/2023

First time walking in Cotswolds! County top number 7 on a 10 county top three day expedition with 26 school students and 3 teachers (including myself). Weather was grey and occasional light drizzle but visibility reasonable. Started from car park near golf club and took the Winchcombe Way across Cleeve Common to the transmitting station and then the trig point at the summit. Odd hiking across a golf course! Very open ground though and views would be good on a nice day. Varied the return route by following the ridge to Cleeve Cloud (317m), a much better summit with its own trig point and great views over Cheltenham. Will return here.jamessteel10005/04/2023

On a long, unplanned walk from Broadway to Prestbury, it seemed like a great idea to take in Gloucestershire's two highest hills in one go. Broadway - Seven Wells Hill - Upper Coscombe - Roel Hill - Cleeve Hill - Prestbury. Quite tired by the time I got to the trig, but enough energy to try to get to the hillfort before the sunset disappeared behind cloud. Bad choice of descent route along an increasingly muddy and slippery track through Queen's Wood. I was pretty caked in mud by the time I emerged on the road!thesweetcheat12/03/2022
Easy walk along the common from the car park to the South East. Quite windy but sunny with clear blue skies. Quite a few people about as well as Belted Galloway Cattle. Lots of wildlife Red Kites, Stonechats, Skylarks, Ravens, Buzzard, Magpie. We walked to the trig and summit and carried on to look down over Cheltenham Racecourse. Good views to the Malvern and Forest of Dean. Time taken 3 miles for 1.5 hoursisabelle27/02/2022

Parked at free car park next to golf club. Avoided golf balls along with sheep on walk to summit. Wonderful views to enjoy from various benches . Good entertainment watching golfers compete against sheep for the greens and fairways.Hippy7715/08/2021
Easily accessible from the Cleeve Hill Common Car Park (small but free). Again, very exposed so definitely not one for today's 30+ degree heat. That said, there is a seating area a click or two from the summit with enough of a tree to afford some shade. Stunning views, trig point easily found and nice table top pointer to highlight points of interest. Very little incline from the car park and a fantastic choice for the 4th (and last) of today.jamiequackers19/07/2021
Very hot, 29C, day with perfect blue skies. Walked from Winchcombe via Langley Hill Farm and the golf club, where we stopped for ice cream. It’s also worth noting non-members can get food in the cafe here. Along the ridge to the summit, passing the lonesome pine. Then on to Belas Knapsack long barrow before dropping back down to Winchcombe.pclyndes18/07/2021

Drove to Cleeve Hill village. Parked adjacent to CH Golf Club. Fairly easy walk on paths over sheep-strewn course, avoiding low-flying balls. Excellent views over to Cheltenham racecourse. Trig point & county top close to car park near cluster of masts. No real peak as such, but v enjoyable walk and views on beautiful sunny day. Photo of trig point had Worcestershire beacon in background - 2 county tops in one shot!timbo9904/06/2021

First time I've been up to the summit itself for a few years. Walked up from Cleeve Village with a couple of hill-bagging friends on a trip from Scotland, very windy and overcast. From the summit we went across to the northern trig and then over to Belas Knap, before dropping to Winchcombe. A fine stroll even on a poor day weather-wise.thesweetcheat16/03/2019

With E. Short flat walk from road end by telecomms masts. Low cloud with visibility down to 20 metres meant no views at all so didn't extend the walk across Cleeve Common to Cleeve Hill and The Ring trig point as originally planned.Beeliner16/11/2018

Followed the slightly more direct Winchcombe Way back. Took about an hour in total, with a few stops for photos.Wheelsy05/08/2018
Travelling from Manchester to Torquay - Our second Marylin of the day. Hot now and getting hotter (Approx. 29 degrees). We park near Woodmancote at the top of Stockwell Lane. Short green / yellow grasses, trig and toposcope (the hoot of a steam train crossing the plain below) then walled Beech tree (but this is not the summit) onward past the masts to the summit and 2nd trig beyond. Cattle huddle under the shade of a tree. Fabulous feeling of space on this hill. We lingered but have a journey to complete.briandavies26/07/2018

Parked near the masts (free, plenty of spaces along the road) so getting to the summit was not exactly an achievement, but the short walk across to the memorial tree SO987256 and then the viewpoint SO985263 is a must! Bagged on what might end up being the last properly hot day of 2018.jkl03/07/2018

A four mile county top outing, Cleeve hill is not the high point but is a good start point from here you can see three transmitters head to them using a lonely tree as a middle ground once you get to the transmitters head left with the fence on your right shoulder to the trig point for Cleeve common and the real high point is yours.WAYNE ROWLETT16/08/2015

Took care to visit the summit today, with Pete. Isenbourne (1 mile SW of Winchcombe)- Postlip Hall- Cleeve Common (GC, top)- Buras Knap- Isenbourne. The start is in quite an industrial valley (Paper Mills) but soon it's through the hall's grounds and old quarrying (unsprayed grassland- must be full of flowers in summer?) to the high common. Was at the trig at least, and the impressive long barrow at Buras Knap, in July 1977 on a family walking tour.pwheeler27/12/2014

Dads last Marilyn summit aged 90, the summit of Cleeve hill on 29th September 2013. Many times he went walking on the golf course and sometimes as far as The Ring trig pillar on Cleeve Cloud, but rarely in later years did he walk the 350m from the radio towers to the actual summit of Cleeve hill here. So glad I helped him With a steadying arm to get here on this day just before sunset.vegibagger29/09/2013

As Mrs Mindless flogger was completing the Cotswold way that day, I knocked this hill off on the way to picking her up in Bristol. Parked somewhere to the north (not sure where) and did a loop over the back of the hill. As I had no map, I asked a guy with a big pack if he was on the Cotswold way. He was polite but probably thought I was stupid as there was a sign right next to us. Well worth a visit as its open country side so you are free to wander. Collected a large lump of oolitic limestone to put next to our pond.mindlessflogger04/05/2013
