Really couldn't have wished for better weather conditions to visit this iconic British isle today with wall to wall blue skies and flat calm seas. 10/10 island visit for sure.Alex C16/08/2023
Revisit whilst waiting for the tide to drop on Rat Island.AndyS06/07/2023
Sunny warm day, holiday day trip. Graveyard and more northerly high point visited over airstrip. Lighthouse lantern room tops the lot.N.Morters29/06/2023
Had planned a daytrip for next month (April 2023) but the boat is not even ready yet. They took the cash back in November for the daytrip, posted the tickets to me, I arranged a holiday around it, and today they announce no boat trips for the next month. Not impressed by the management here and feel sorry for the admin staff having to deal with all the extra emails and refunds. There's no excuse for this sort of mess. I wouldn't recommend booking this trip in April and maybe even May. They shouldn't be taking money at all unless they have a relief vessel ready. Useless. OK, rant over!danpquinn23/03/2023
From the jetty, via SW wall for cliff view, then onto HP. Also visited obvious mound above the well on Ackland's Moor. We continued along the top of the W cliffs to the Halfway Wall, getting distant views of nesting puffins and guillemots near the Devils Chimney. Fitted in a pint at the Marisco Tavern before boat back- good view of Dolphins close to boat and Manx Shearwaters on a section where it was flat calm. Wonderful day out with sun through thin cloud. With brother, Pete.pwheeler07/06/2022
Long day, worth the visit. Long climb up from boat, best to wait for the masses to go on to the village and enjoy the views along the way.midlife_hiking18/09/2021
From the pier, a steady climb up track & path to the Marisco Tavern and then a pleasant stroll to the summit mound which lies next to a stone Celtic Cross in overgrown cemetery. Also visited the obvious mound (142m spot ht) on Ackland's Moor. (S)gerrybowes07/09/2021
Looking good when left Ilfracombe and good sail out….but mist came on quickly and rather spoilt the day. Then when leaving the sun came out again and good sail back!softsquare24/06/2021
Beautiful day trip. Visited the cemetery and climbed the lighthouse which is a remarkable structure.Campbell Singer19/10/2019

244 passengers plus eight crew = no room to stretch your legs. The island was just the same.Eddie09/07/2019

Sunny day trip to Lundy with Richard, Rob and Jon. Re- visit to the top of the light house, also all possible grassy hummocks at ground level and in nearby cemetery. Also visited small quarry/ rocky outcrop c500m to N. All points seen somewhat disturbed and of similar height but I feel I have visited the HP of Lundy Island.Denise 29/09/2018
Revisit en route to Gannets' Island. 2 summits: S is in cemy E of LH, artificial mound c.1m above natural ground. N is ground NW of open cistern 0.5km to N. 10k mapping has 143m and 142m respectively but may have spot-heighted the mound. Inseparable by RM's Abney.RHW29/09/2018
Rough grassed over mound in church yard beside lighthouse, but highly likely man made. Auklands Moor ~500m to N has a more natural high point of grass on granite slab and is of similar height to base of mound.RichardM29/09/2018
During a four night stay at the castle on Lundy. The HP is in the cemetery although clearly most of the possible mounds are man made - some ancient and some not so ancient.clivevilla26/09/2018

This hill was the last of an assault on English & Welsh HUMPs over a 15 day period during which I went up 66. It completed the English ones, other than the Old Man of Mow and got the relocation at Hensbarrow sorted out.Kiltie26/05/2018
From the quay, up the tracks and then on paths around the southwestern part of the island and up to the lighthouse compound. Also visited the Ackland's Moor spot height for good measure.Mariana Trench20/05/2018
Great day out on Lundy. Land in the cemetery seems highest. Also went to 142 spot height. Enjoyed lunch at top of lighthouse.jenx12/10/2017
With Jenx on day trip from Ilfracombe, £38 return, £31 w concession (Helicopter £116 return). Three hours on island due to tides/weather, just nicked in late in the season. Brisk walk up to old light, doors open and at the top enjoyed the two deckchairs plus panoramic view for lunch. Out to north of island to view the Devils Slide climb and Gannets rock. Just time for a beer in the pub and visit to shop before pleasant boat backnordicstar12/10/2017
Lovely day on beautiful Lundy. Not only did I bag the summit, I also went to the top of the lighthouse - best view on the island. Saw puffins as wellM3WDD21/06/2016

Bagged on a trip to Lundy from Ilfracombe with Ian Brown. Had to return to Bideford due to a force 5 wind.Dugswell226/08/2014
The OS1:50k shows a 142m spot height SS 13242 44773 named Ackland's Moor; this would appear to be the highest point on Lundy. On the ground the old lighthouse seems to be higher.jonglew06/09/2012
Lundy holiday with the Englishs.Fionalevey14/08/2011
Fine day out. Walk up the ramp and paths from the boat. Then there is the pub (good beer and food) and a shop - the summit is about 15 minutes away on the plateau.destaylor02/07/2011
Spent 4 days on the island - wonderful. Visited both potential high points and it's worth noting that most of the area around the lighthouse is disturbed ground - graveyard, foundations, walls, etc so this summit may be an artificial one.Chris Peart23/09/2008

High point is obvious when you get there. Lundy is an interesting place but not as special as the Scillies!signyred26/06/2007

For the fun of it a gang of us slept at the top of the ligthouse around the light then abseiled off the top the next morning. An amazing climbing week during which the island was invaded by twitchers desperate to see the Ancient Murlet - the first time it had ever been spotted in Europe.Chris Pearson31/05/1990
