Day 5 on the South Downs Way. After negotiating the floods in Alfriston took the inland route of the South Downs Way which enabled me to bag this hill. 5 min walk off the trail to the trig.fosal2918/11/2022
From car park in Alfriston, NE along SDW and then to trig point/hp. Descent down NE ridge to the Wealdway and along to the base of the Long Man, an impressive chap close up. With Gillian.richard6907/10/2022

Sunny but blustery day for walking, nice gentle walk up the hills with easy to follow paths, easy to park in Alfriston.JazDisney19/03/2022
With Firle Beacon. From Firle Beacon car park 468059. Followed the South Downs Way on and end to end walk over Firle Beacon, through Alfriston and up Wilmington Hill, then off North down to the Weald Way and the path that leads past the Long Man of Wilmington to the Car Park in Wilmington. 8.9 miles easy walking, just over 3hrs moving time.JulieB12/02/2022
Beautiful winter sun. Walked around the bottom of the Long Man then back up from the Western Side. A fantastic walk.sconnolly0108/01/2022

Parked at the car park for the Wilmington Man which is easily found and fits quite a number of cars. Well signed route up to the summit taking in wonderful views of the man himself.jamiequackers20/12/2021
From Wilmington village. On ROW to Long Man then up on slanting path above. Came down the NE ridge to make a circuit.Mark Sims23/09/2021

Struggled to get car on car park because of low clearance and so many bumps. Quick walk up large path and up to trig point. Ran down. When I got back to car park an extremely famous model was doing a professional photo shoot on the car park which was totally bizarre considering the state of the parking areaketzster31/03/2021
From small, uneven CP at TQ532032, crossed road and followed wide South Downs Way uphill. We followed the curving route of the Way, departing to head straight ahead as we passed through a gate while the Way curved to the right. Proceeded over lovely turf to TP, the high point being 5m beyond on obvious raised ground. Fabulous views west, and east over remaining South Downs to Eastbourne. Return by reverse route. Drive away north and look back for good view of The Walking Man.Dartmoorman17/10/2020
Parked Lullington Court. Road and FP back towards Alfriston then turned up FP to the hill. Visited long barrow and round barrow on Windover Hill. Bagged top (w Eoin & Tiarnán) and down path through Lullington Heath NNR. Joined Geraldine & Clodagh for dinner at Plough and Harrow, Litlington.Pete West13/09/2020
My favourite hill of the day (1 out of 5 bagged today). Outstanding views, and added benefit of free car parking and the Long Man. Can see the wind farm out to the sea.mazz16/08/2020
Parked at Priory car park and as I was a bit tight for time I jogged along the trail opposite to the base of the Long Man. Then a leg pumping burst straight up the steeper part of the hill gained height quickly followed by a gentler approach to the trig and high point just beyond. Would like to have had a little more time to relax and explore the area.Gerry the Ranger07/08/2020
2.5 mile circular from car park at Wilmington, followed path to The Holt woods and the followed track marked on map which is actually a path up to summit, descended via the Long Man back to car park, a few people about, far reaching views on this sunny but very windy day. Later that day bagged Mount Caburn, Cliffe Hill, Wolstonbury Hill and Chanctonbury Ring.DanTrig05/07/2020

Here for the trigpoint but made sure I stood on the high spot too! Parked at the Long Man and Priory car park in Wilmington (N50° 48.977' E0° 11.406'), lovely spot. Then walked firstly up to the Long Man and then up to the ridge to the trigpoint. Lovely trig and walk.thejackrustles22/04/2018

Walk up from Wilmington on very hot day. With Cal, Fred and Bob.Ham and Skate13/08/2017
Wilmington hill is quite nice, but the day can be made even better by starting from Alfriston, climbing Wilmington, Willingdon, Beachy Head (crowded), and Belle Tout. The best part of the walk is the continuation over the Seven Sisters, with superb views from the glorious white cliffs. Pub lunch in Jevington and tea and fizzy pop at the Belle Tout cafe were very welcome, given the blistering heat.Gill05/07/2017
