On way to and from Aonach Shasuinn. A good bumpy ridge with views, very pleasant stroll.Jon F15/07/2021
A good clockwise circuit from tent at foot of Alt Garbh on a very fine day. Had intended to go other way round but missed path junction so stuck with it. Worked out well because met a guy on top who warned me in advance of his struggle up through deep heather. So, first up to Creag nan Calmain (Gt); Cnap na Stri (Gt); Carn nan Coireachan Cruidh (Ct)out to Carn a Choire Bhuide (Ct); Aonach Shassuin (C); Carn a Choire Garbh (C); Carn Glass Lochdarrach (Ct); then to avpid the heather dropped down to the new track which took me round to join my outward route - a good move.dickscroop02/06/2021
#3 of 6 from Affric road end car park, with Dave MRHW22/10/2020
Long circuit from car park at end of road in Glen Affric. Carn Glas Iochdarach - Carn a'Choire Ghairbh - Aonach Shasuinn - Carn nan Coireachan Cruaidh - Cnap na Stri. Bright, snow above 600m (quite deep in places) with occasional spindrift. Dark on final summit so interesting descent, although later the moon was exceptionally bright, caating strong shadows. Outstanding 360 degree views of snow-covered mountains. Nearly 11h in total.RobertP05/11/2017

Circuit from Affric Lodgerjf3505/08/2009
Solo. Left road end in Glen Affric and walked on forest track WSW. After crossing Allt Garbh and a short distance beyond took footpath signed by a Scottish Rights of Way signpost. Kept to the west of Allt Garbh on deer tracks and open ground – quite icy. Where the track from Cougie crosses the burn, I joined that track. The track is wide enough for vehicles, and there was evidence of recent use. Followed the track to its end where there is a small hut. Snow was now lying quite extensively. I went to the outfall of Loch an Sgùid, going a short distance downstream on Allt Garbh, before finding a place to cross. Joined the ridge falling N (then NE) off the W top of Aonach Shasuinn, kicking steps. Reached main top and then both tops of Cairn nan Coireachan Cruaidh. Followed the glen of Allt Fraoch-choire to lochan (bigger than shown on map!) Descended through forest in the dark.pwbellarby07/12/1996
