7/11 Parked at SJ 017 511, and followed the Hiraethog Trail all the way to the summit. Visited the mast, then across to the cairn to get the true summit. Nice view across to the Clwydian Range. A round trip of 3 km in 50 minutes.silveracorn_alan15/04/2022
Space to park at SJ 018511 from jct a few yds pt.349 (SJ 024501), via a well enough metalled road. Driving directions seem half the key to getting up some of these hills! Easy on foot from there, going up signposted RoW on tracks to double summit with mown heather making it easier now. Decent views- tops of most turbines below summit. There is a curious-looking climate change experiment going on, on the moor below the summit. A flock of crossbills gave a glimmer of wildness in an area where wildness is being sacrificed. Good to get all the humps around Llyn Brenig done with.pwheeler22/03/2022

Parked at grid ref 00489 53166 and followed the forest roads round to the first bump with the tower on it and then made my way over to the true summit. Two hours for the Five and three quarter mile trip.WAYNE ROWLETT30/05/2021

Yellow road from 002493 driveable all the way to 017510. Good parking here. Followed Hiraethog Trial to top, then across thigh high heather to cairn. With Tim747CreakingHiker19/09/2020

With Rufus from parking on B5105 at SJ 01345 49993. Followed forest tracks to Hiraethog trail and track to aerial. Went across heather to the high point. Wind farm now complete so maps etc are not completely accurate but the main trails are still in the same place.jacobrichmond02/04/2020
From SJ017511 - parked by Maen Cred (https://www.coflein.gov.uk/en/site/407541/details/maen-cred). Hard work for the last 300m through heather.summitsup06/03/2020
From by compound for windfarm construction site. Simple enough to the mast- a bit squelchy across to the true top. Large cairn is not high point. Quite a view- especially of the rain coming my way .stig_nest01/09/2019
Much windfarm work in progress. Up the track from the south. Parked before gate which does get locked. With R and B.jenx27/06/2019
19.35 tedious to have to go over to the NW top from the ariel tower compoundbut having checked in here, didn't have any option, did I..??vegibagger15/04/2019
From the south. Much work going on to widen forest track: sign saying 'Not safe for pedestrians'. Told them it was part of the Hiraethog Trail. Foreman allowed worker in Isuzu pickup to take me along another track to bypass the machinery. Fine, except got dropped off some distance NW of where I wanted to be! Visited mast then across to mound in heather. On return had to bypass work in progress through the forest, not much fun.Aye Jimmy13/06/2018
Easy parking as others just off main forestry road. Followed good tracks to mast and then across rough heather to high point. No sign of small cairn.Alan Caine03/04/2018
Good parking at 017511. The fence at the transmitter compound is in disrepair. High point in heather to west. With CJM.bolton05/01/2017

Parked at SJ 01798 51102 and went up Hiraethog Trail then kept low and ended up scrambling up a bit through woods but it was ok and I did not bother with the radio mast top as it's been overruled now. Went back on 20/09/15 to do the radio mast top as that is the gr listed in the Dewey book. The fence around the mast on the left has been pulled down.clivevilla08/09/2015
Parked in a wide area off narrow lane running north from the B5105 at SJ 01798 51102 - plenty of room. Took Hiraethog Trail north by forest tracks, then track NNE up to aerial. Once over gate it was 100m of rough ground to the summit. A fine panoramic view. Returned the same way. Solo evening walk.Man of Kernow129/08/2015
12/13 If gate is open you can drive most of teh way to top than follow walking trail sign to clear radio mastFergalh16/05/2015
Rain turned to snow as I emerged from the trees. Had to take a bearing from the mast to locate summit.Colin Crawford13/03/2015
Parked at SJ017511. A lot of logging work going on. Straight up to mast following Hiraethog Trail. Sandwich on the picnic bench at the mast. Heavy snow falling so all views obscured. With Fin.jim1m21/02/2015

Drove up metalled road but parked too early. Great views from top (better from around mast).SS01/04/2014
Quite possibly the best viewpoint of the Clocaenog Forest. Came over on a directish line through the forest from Foel Frech tump.Alex C25/07/2013

Cerrigydrudion to Bryn S.M. Only rain of this very windy day while on summit, so view restricted to monotonous conifers. A more challenging approach seemed feasible from the ROW west of summit clearing!Smudge25/11/2011
Parked at the parking area on the road to S. Mistake. CB parking much better just doesn't show well on the 1:50,000. Tedious crossing a metaled road after walking for a Km.destaylor24/06/2011
Parked 017512. ROW to just before the mast where there is a gate and across to the NW top.chrisbien11/04/2011
Had a look at the mast but then proceeded to the correct summit to the WNW of the mast, cool breeze but some blue sky seen, 2 degrees C.Dugswell206/03/2011

Parked in forest at GR 019520 and followed forest track to summit. The mast is on the highest point. Still no sign of the great shrike but a twitcher was hoping. Equipment installed to monitor climate change. With SH.wombourne16/03/2010
Start~ 017512. Walked up radio mast access track. Science project ongoing on summit area. Research into global warming.steve hudson16/03/2010
Can't dispute quoted summit GR at NW contour but still stood on highest ground (SJ 01863 51962) within mast compound through hole in fence to make sure! (No sign of Great Grey Shrike)David Gradwell28/02/2010
