Up and down from Bethania via the inclines and Llyn. Good views todayMoorponder08/07/2022
From BF, up incline to Llyn Manod then picked up feint path to twin summits. Super views & not too hot. Descended to other end of lake via wall to then continue to new 2000er in Quarry. With Danstig_nest08/05/2022
7.5 mile walk from Bethania, Blaenau Ffestiniog. Up old quarry incline from town to old quarry ruins then following a path to Llyn Y Manod. We followed the odd sheep track up to Manod Bach. No proper path. Descended same way, then walked along path by lake and onto track diagonally up the side of Manod Mawr eventually heading across to summit. The quarry was unsurprisingly very active (it was a Monday)so we headed back down to the lake then incline following a path past Llyn Du Bach and climbing steeply on not bad terrain to Manod Mawr North Top. This involves a lot of descent/ascent but it completely avoids the working quarry. We retraced our steps back to town. 880m ascent in sunny conditions. Great views all around. Afterwards we drove to Foel Offrwm and the Precipice walk.DanTrig25/04/2022
2/4 Dewey day. Parked in the car park at Cae Clyd (SH 708 443). Followed road past cottages, then RoW up to Llyn y Manod. Used small track along the western edge until nearly at its north end, then followed very small track (sometimes tricky to spot) up north ridge to the double cairned summit. Splendid viewpoint on a beautiful day. A round trip of 6km with 310m ascent in just under 2 hours.silveracorn_alan18/04/2022
Parked on Manod road 70853 45444, and headed for the track up to Llyn Dwr-oer and then a footpath to Llyn y Manod from where a very faint path may be found to help you up Manod Bach at least part way. One hour forty five for the Two and half miles.WAYNE ROWLETT20/03/2022

Last of the day. I wasn't going to bother after scrambling down west slope of Manod Mawr but by the time I reached bottom it didn't look to bad so up I went.Dusty28/03/2017

Came down the inclines - should have gone up as well. Inclines start at SH 70706 45052 with a padlock. Not one at the top. From the top of the inclines no paths but no problems.destaylor31/03/2015
From Blaenau up the inclines then round to Llyn y Manod and the north ridge. Returdned by same route.SS24/01/2015
From Blaenau Ffestiniog, a round of Manod Bach, Manod Mawr, NT, Foel-fras, Moel Penamnen, Moel Farlwyd and Moel Dyrnogydd.rhalstead21/03/2014
Clockwise circular round from Blaenau Ffestiniog. Garreg Ddu - Moel Farlwyd - Moel Penamnen - Foel Fras - Manod Mawr North Top - Manod Mawr - Manod Bach. The extremely large building in Maen-offeren Quarries is well worth a peek inside. It's like an industrial museum. The descent off Manod Mawr to the northern tip of Llyn y Manod is fairly ghastly!David Gradwell11/08/2013
As part of a circular walk of Moel Farlwyd, Moel Penamnen, Foel Fras. Manod Mawr North Top, Manod Mawr and Manod Bach.JohnStoneham04/06/2013
Start ~ 706450, parked on road by haulage yard. Climbed up the old slate inclines north of Manod Bach, the followed track to lake and up north ridge. Decent down S.E. ridge then path and lane to Manod village.steve hudson08/04/2013
Parked in Manod and walked along Cae Clyd and picked up good footpath at end of road. Then path up towards Llyn y Manod before nipping over fence and following wall up SE ridge to summit.chriswatson13/03/2013
Detour up and down from Llyn y Manod on descent from Manod Mawr. Dominated by Mawr but a nice top nonetheless.Jake99423/09/2012
From Manod Mawr. Made the mistake of going in a straight line via a steep rocky/heathery descent from Manod Mawr. The route I picked back off Manod Bach was also slow and difficult but fun anyway.clivevilla26/08/2012
6th of 6. A painted lady was basking on a stone near the summit. Quick dash back for the last train to Porthmadog and a nice beer on the way.Herbert Anchovy29/05/2012
