Long day out from Ty'n Cornel hostel. Hard work to get here from Mynydd Tywi hill top to the east across some challenging ground. Summit is a lovely spot, just off Cambrian way and today, with outstanding weather, the views N and S are splendid. | richardrosser | 07/03/2023 |

Parked at end of minor road (719 604) for a circuit of Gopa Uchaf, along the bridleway following the valley east, Garn Gron and Y Bryn. Initially along ROW - easy to follow (unusually for Wales!). | PGCE | 11/08/2021 |

From the ruined abbey to the north. Continued north towards Gopa Uchaf but could not find a crossing place over the stream just below the final climb, so will have to try climbing it from the south another time. | ijpowell | 09/07/2021 |
from east top using fire breaks good views and impresive cairns | underhill | 06/05/2021 |
Trig is between two large stone cairns and HP is somewhere near. NW summit also visited, lower. Superb wild views on clear sunny day. Onto Bry y Crofftau. | Denise | 17/04/2021 |
From Y Bryn, reasonable going over rough grass. Levelish summit with trig, 2m high cylindrical cairn and remains of tumulus. Good views. Bright sunshine but a cold wind. | RichardM | 17/04/2021 |
From the end of minor road (719 604) along the bridleway following the valley east, then just before the forest steeply up to Gopa Uchaf , return to the bridleway to follow it N just below the summit of Garn Gron. Then SW into the valley to pick up the farm track and then along the edge of the access land at the gate marked private, back to the original bridleway and back to the minor road. 9km with 400m ascent in 2h 30m. Second of five Dewey's on a 18 mile walk from the parking at Llyn Berwyn taking seven hours. Route forest road to east of Gopa Uchaf then fire break to base of hill dropped down far side to footpath after fording stream followed this to Garn Gron, continued on footpath/bridleway until I reached road connecting to the cycle way north east, followed forest road past Llyn Du up fire break to Mynydd Tywi down other fire break headed east and then up another fire break to reach the east top, returned to forest road heading south to finally take in Cefn y Cnwc, continued heading south on forest road until phone box then headed west up road to car. | WAYNE ROWLETT | 10/06/2018 |
From Mynydd Tywi East Top. Returned south on the tracks to a junction, then bridleway near Nantymaen Farm NW up the valley, past a large cairn, and onwards north. At the highest point on the bridleway a narrow path leads up to the summit. Onwards to Gopa Uchaf. Solo. | Man of Kernow1 | 03/06/2018 |
Sufficient room for 1 car at end of road at 719605 E. up farm track & after crossing stream headed NE to summit. Some bog & tussock, but not too bad with occasional trods & ATV tracks. (S) | gerrybowes | 11/11/2017 |
From Mynydd Twyi trig. Descent OK through felled forest. Wet and rough in pretty much a straight line to the SW corner of the remaining forest, then across the BW and up to the summit. Tried to get to Gopa Uchaf but the river was impassable. Used BW to return to the telephone box. | Moorponder | 30/09/2017 |
From just off mountain road above Diffwys using forestry track to get close to Gopa Uchaf. No tree bashing but rough underfoot for last hundred yards to fence. Dropped to Groes Fawr and followed track to very close to summit of Carn Gron (signposted) with its trig, windshelter and large cairn. Came back by taking obvious (from a distance) firebreak to track - this was pretty rough but better than walking back thev way I'd come. | SS | 08/07/2017 |

Gopa Uchaf, Llethr Llwyd, Gopa Uchaf and Y Drum from parking at 718605. A lot of off path but mostly grassy although a little boggy in places and a bit tricky to get back across the river. | clivevilla | 12/07/2016 |

Walked from 76250 57625 to the south east. Breezy but clear morning. Not too wet underfoot. Visited the Talbot Hotel for a pint after walk. A pint of Glaslyn no less from the Purple Moose Brewery. | Dusty | 22/10/2011 |
