Ascent from Clydach Vale, northern side of the valley. Steep to begin with but eases off to a gradual ascent through forestry. Access NW from SS 9568 9365 is currently restricted by forestry work. Approach by travelling west then north along the ridge of Mynydd William Meyrick. Trig is hidden in a clearing amidst the dense conifers, conveys a mystical setting of pilgrimage to an ancient shrine or tomb. Returned south along ridge to large cairn (summit of Mynydd William Meyrick) with stunning views and descent through forest back into Cwm Clydach.forsterfamily724/08/2021
Visited with Alma Aurea on a walk from the Bwlch Mountain layby. We walked through the Graig Fawr Cwm, down to Cwm Parc, and back up the ridge and around to the summit here to finish.meltdiceburg05/06/2021
From the viewpoint at SS 939 945. Up the windfarm track to entrance to forest at SS 945 941, then along forest edge - choice of paths. Track into forest, with summit down a short ride right. Also visited trig.PGCE02/04/2021

6/7 Dewey day. From the viewpoint at SS 939 945. Up the windfarm track to entrance to forest at SS 945 941, then along forest edge for approx 250m to ride. Then down ride avoiding deep wet area, with visits to the Trig and the summit cairn up a side clearing. back by same route. Trials bikes racing around all over the place!! 3.6km with 100m ascent in 1 hour. (S)silveracorn_alan26/07/2020

2/4 Parked at the viewpoint and followed gravel path to the forest, visited both the cairn and the (man made?) mound near the large black puddle.penbet28/07/2019
Started 940945 - in darkness - fine weather - followed track SE then took subsidiary track to edge of forest. Followed path forest side of fence line to wide break - headed E towards summit which is found in a small clearing in S side of breakwychwood19/04/2019
From the viewpoint car park at the head of Cwm Dar on the A 4061. Took tracks up to the forest edge, then over barbed wire fence and along forest track. Trig in a forest clearing, accessed by a path cut through the firs. Also visited the cairn and likely high point in the wide gap between the trees close to the western edge of the forest. Returned the same way. with MP and AW.Man of Kernow125/08/2018

Climbed up from Cwm Clydach through the country park. Over Mynydd William Meyrick then onto Mynydd Ton. Returned on forestry tracks via Mynydd Bwllfa. Summit cairn is separated from trig by very wet/boggy ground.Arbie10/05/2018

From view point / layby at junc A4017 and A4061. Good forest road initially then straight through forest to trig pillar before taking the fire break W to forest edge and checking out the new HP. Would take the trig as the HP, but the tamperers know better. From the brurned out 4x4 at SS94699392 (the better way to access both HP and trig), headed S to the trig surface block (Nant Blaenogwr) and pillar (Garn Fawr) for a pleasant 5 mile round trip before rain set in for rest of the day.jonglew12/01/2017
From view point up track to forest edge, firebreak no has abandoned 4x4 on its side. Trig was found by going down forest track at the end of firebreak and looking through the trees. In a small clearing amongst trees. HP visited as well.PeterD06/08/2016

Must have passed this on the way to Mynydd William Meyrick trigppoint. Had read the previous logs for this but still struggled. If you head up the main track and turn right (SS 94564 94124) along the edge of the forest you will come to a fire break on the left (SS 94698 93939). Take this track and keep going until you see a small track off to the left (SS 94959 94033), it leads straight to the trig point. It's like a Narnia path with the trig shining at the end, just perfect! Trig is damaged and a tad crumbly in places.thejackrustles05/03/2016
Parked at viewpoint above Treorchy and followed track to edge of forest. Nice views on descent.Ramblingpaul05/01/2016

Parked in the layby at the junction of the A4061 and A4107. Walked up the track to where it swings N and heads for the forest. Climbed direct to a fire break at SS 94689E 93921N. Followed fire break for 120 metres and turned right into a short fire break. Top at end of this. Is a hollow cairn. Return the same. No views cloud and rain.MikeM13/06/2015

From viewpoint up track then across grass to forest edge and along track for about 100m to old cairn.SS15/03/2015
From the viewing point where there was a rather optimistic ice cream van considering there was snow on the higher Beacons and there was a cold wind. To find the summit you go left into the forest along an open way and it is in another open bit off to the right.clivevilla14/03/2015
4/9 easy to climb up to top from viewing point. Cairn easy to find but trig pillar could not findFergalh07/12/2014

Easy walk up from the road, snow on the sheltered edges of forest. Visited Cairn. Could not find the Trig point at all, was pleased the cairn is the actual summit. I see another blasted windfarm is going up close by.isabelle05/11/2012
