From A4107 summit/hairpin for an out and back of Mynydd Ynyscorrwg and Blaengwynfi. | rhalstead | 02/08/2020 |
1/7 Dewey day. From Blaengwynfi following the zig zag forest road to the mast, then further forest roads to Mynydd Ynyscrrwg, then around the head of Cwm Gwynfi using easy road past turbines before branching off to the right to the Mynydd Blaengwynfi trig just off the track on the right. Retracing the route back to the main forest road and south east to SS 918 962 from where the edge of the forest is followed to the broken trig of Twyn Crugyrafan. A slight descent to cross the A4107 at the summit then up access road to the masts at Werfa, behind which the summit trig hides. Then following small tracks over the grassy top of Werfa west down to the col, where the new wind farm road is joined up the hill before branching off to the trig at the summit of Mynydd Caerau. Finally back to the col and then easy traverse of the grassy pasture heading north along the bridleway until a really awkward and very steep descent without track has to be negotiated down into Abergwynfi, and then throug | silveracorn_alan | 26/07/2020 |

From the parking area in Blaengwynfi. Two hours for just over four miles out and back from the summit using forest roads and fire breaks. | WAYNE ROWLETT | 22/03/2020 |
2/3 - started 916957 - fine weather - seemed to take a long time to reach - as the made track heads L downhill, follow the earth track steeply uphill - branch right and eventually leads over highest point | wychwood | 19/04/2019 |
Came across from Mynydd Blaengwynfi. At N51 40.335 W3 36.081 I forked right up steep track, then right at N51 40.120 W3 36.543 up to high point. To get down I returned to N51 40.335 W3 36.081 then west along main track and lesser track to the mast at N51 39.702 W3 36.746 but heeded earlier advice and took track west here rather than east past mast. The west track weaved its way down the hillside before ending up in the west end of the village. | Father Ted | 10/04/2019 |
From Mynydd Blaengwynfi. Along good forest tracks past wind turbines, up lesser tracks to HP. Wish I had read other logs on here more thoroughly as the path down from the mast petered out very quickly and left me thrashing around in high bracken and brambles. | PeterD | 09/09/2018 |

Roadside parking near top of Upton Street in Blaengwynfi at 892965 - Up Mynydd Blaengwynfi & then continued NNE on old forest track which joins up with an excellent track that can be followed around the head of Cwm Gwynfi to fork at 894984 - Branched right & along overgrown track to fork at 888978 - Again, branched right & up past metal water tank to the summit which lies alongside the high point of the track. Descended back to main track at 894984 & followed this back to village. (S) | gerrybowes | 02/02/2018 |
Mynydd Ynyscorrwg and Mynydd Blaengwynfi more or less as marktrengrove. 6.72 miles. Blaengwynfi is a depressing little town. | clivevilla | 25/08/2017 |
Parked at the end of the lane at SS 88554 96875 in Blaengwynfi. Took the zig-zag track up round the west side of Cwm Gwynfi. Then a steep thrash up the side of the forest to a higher overgrown track, following it west, then on a lesser path north-west past a metal reservoir up to the summit area. Left the path for a painful thrash in the thick forest west of the path to be sure. Don't bother, as path seemed as high! Onwards to Mynydd Blaengwynfi. Solo. | Man of Kernow1 | 17/06/2017 |

From Caroline Terrace, Abergwynfi, on 6 mile circular walk to take in Mynydd Blaengwynfi first. HP on a track in conifer plantation - went into forest but ground seemed lower on both sides. Long section of wind farm access roads between the 2 hills. Bit of a mare coming off the hill from SS89019707, missed the track if it exists; not to be repeated! | jonglew | 01/02/2017 |

Start ~ 888967, Blaengwynfi village. Up Upton St. to forest tracks and on to Mynydd Blaengwynfi summit. Continued North then west on new tracks to Mynydd Ynyscorrwg. The old tracks here are getting very over grown. Descended to phone mast then the long way to village. With wombourne. | steve hudson | 07/09/2015 |
From GR 888967. Walked over Mynydd Blaengwynfi then continued to Mynydd Ynyscorrwg. With SH. | wombourne | 07/09/2015 |
An out and back from Blaengwynfi. Forest tracks all the way. OK for half a day. | MikeM | 13/08/2015 |
Parked at forestry gate (SS917956)and followed rolling forestry tracks all the way. Past early construction stage for new wind turbines. At 502m spot height there is no view. The walk was quiet, not the shortest route but I was in no rush. | Dusty | 07/05/2015 |
From Blaengwynfi up path to forest track (note the upper one isnt obvious from top of path). Then on over tracks and paths to trig point (keep your eyes peeled screened by trees). Round forestry tracks past a wind turbine base and on up past old water tank to summit. Made mistake of trying to drop from mast to village on old track (dont). Came down to west on tracks in the end. | SS | 15/03/2015 |
2/5 Long tough hike up from Glencorrwg...track not clear but when in forest easy to follow tracks to top which is beside metal water tank in the trees | Fergalh | 08/02/2015 |
