Road to Dobgill now open which saved me a road walk. £4 for 5hrs was quite reasonable. Went up zig-zags to Harrop Tarn and then up Watendlath bridleway (alleged - it would have to be a Shetland pony) and across moor to summit. Returned via Brown Rigg.chriswatson05/03/2024
A rather boggy circuit from Steel Fell car park (road to Dobgill still closed). Up past Harrop Tarn, then wet and brackeny along edge of forest to Brown Rigg. Hard pull over Blea Tarn Fell, then easier to Standing Crag and High Saddle. Hit Wythburn Fell spot on with the GPS and easy descent. Added 5 Birketts and a Fellranger.BURGESS06/07/2023
From steel end car park on a cloudless dayholtsd22/06/2023
13 Birkets after 4 weeks no rain - bone dry apart from (thankfully) a few springs. Road all closed off, so a bit of a trudge along the road after Fisher Crag back to start at Steel End carpark. Hd hoped to drop off bike at descent point to road.Dave Sargent13/06/2023

Up steeply from road. No paths to speak of. Nice terrain once higher up. Down through the forest and starting to gently rain.vegibagger17/05/2022
Ignored the Road Closed sign and parked in car park at GR 316142. Followed the path climbing steeply up through the forest then across open heathland to a windy summit. Returned by same route. With SH.wombourne04/04/2022
Start ~ 316142, Dobgill car park. Followed RoW up through the forest passing Harrop Tarn. Rather windy once we got to the open hillside but not too boggy. Bell Crag summit is a great viewpoint, returned via the same route and even managed to stay dry. With Wombourne.steve hudson04/04/2022
From Dobgill as road closed due to fallen trees. Wasn't planning on quite such a long loop but was having too nice a time to turn around. Bell Crags, Watendlath Fell, Shivery Knott, Middle Fell, Armboth Fell (both tops) and Fisher Crag. Solo.Fionalevey02/02/2022
Was going to do High Tove but road closed at Dob Gill. Melting wet snow and rain. Harrop Tarn stunning,Jim T26/12/2021

Circuit from Watendlath Farm with MKNab Scar19/04/2021
From Dobgill car park. Via Brown Rigg, fiddly pathless ascent around the crags, but nothing difficult apart from tussocky grass. Continued to do a round of the Armboth area fells. Dry conditions, nothing more than small wet patches that could usually be jumped.Nick Caunt19/04/2021
This is a fantastic-looking hill as you approach it from Thirlmere. Bumped into a herd of red deer as we came up the craggy east slopes. With Alfie.Dangerous Dave18/04/2021
Wythburn Fell, Standing Crag, Blea Tarn Fell, Brown Rigg. In the snow.tomd402/01/2021
First of Two tops from Dobgill car park following the footpath through the woods onto the open hills before striking a direct line for the summit, and then making my way over to Armboth fell. Returning via Armboth car park and along the road, Seven and half mile in Four hours.WAYNE ROWLETT06/12/2020

With Fiona. Very enjoyable round starting from bus stop at Dunmail Raise, straight up Steel Fell, then Calf Crag, Ullscarf, Low Saddle, Bell Crags and Brown Rigg before catching bus at Wythburn to Windermere station and train to London. Snowed majority of time but did not settle. Very boggy in places.trimarc230/01/2018
