Parked on grass verge on right past Brow Foot. Walked through Bowderdale and up track to West Fell with a mostly pathless detour to Langdale Knotts. On to Hazelgill Knott, back to last coll and east down north side of beck to valley. South along path to cross where 2 streams meet to ascend steep path up Randygill's southwest ridge. Then across Leathgill Bridge to Hooksey. Continued down track to left fork back to start, right fork not on OS map but leads to Scar Sikes Farm.Flatfield07/08/2022

From Randygill Top, followed a clear path down to the col and then up to the summit of Hooksey. To get back to the car we went back up to Randygill Top, then descended Backside Beck. We crossed the beck then ascended to the path on the side of Wandale Hill. We followed this path to Narthwaite farm and then to Cross Keys. With JT.Sprog04/03/2017

Overnight route from Newbiggin-on-Lune (icy slippery streets). Took footpath S from E end of village to join road then left road to climb N ridge of Green Bell. Descended SW to col then some traversing and short climb to summit of Kensgriff. Descent NE to col then steep ascent to Randygill Top, then descent to col at Leathgill Bridge (camped here overnight). Parked at NY71511 00846. Headed up for the top of Adamthaite Bank and then Grere Fell. Followed quod bike track to above Spengill Well. Continued walking on good track to top of Randygill Top. Dropped down to Leathgill Bridge, steep, and up to top of Hooksey, also steep. Reversed back but cut across the left hand side of Randygill Top to the track leading to Green Bell. Continued to Green Bell. Followed path to Knoutberry. Dropped down off Knoutberry to the col between Knoutberry and Knott. Picked up good quod bike track which crossed Long Gill. Followed track, fainter and crossed a feeder of Long Gill. Walked back to car from there. Bits of quod bike track and some fairly rough grass.MikeM04/01/2017
