From Hooksey via Randygill Top. Nice little ridge and summit. Back to 404 by superb path contouring south-east Rndygill Top and petering out near Spengill Head. Got shelter out in a burlin and ate sandwiches. Good walk, often completely surrounded by mountain scenery. Overnight route from Newbiggin-on-Lune (icy slippery streets). Took footpath S from E end of village to join road then left road to climb N ridge of Green Bell. Descended SW to col then some traversing and short climb to summit of Kensgriff. Descent NE to col then steep ascent to Randygill Top, then descent to col at Leathgill Bridge (camped here overnight).
