Whilst the hill itself is not of note, the views are excellent, particularly of the north side of Kinder Scout - especially if the hill is approached from Snake Pass.justin_j_evans03/08/2023

Drove from Tideswell via Ladybower to Snakes Pass and walked up hill on flagstones. The moorland is recovering- the PW must have been a wide peaty mess before. Returned over Featherbed Top. Fine weather, forecast showers seemed to be dieing out. With Petepwheeler18/03/2023
PW then a beeline for the summit of Featherbed Top then linked up with PW further in before heading to Mill Hill. The PW is paved all the way which makes it quick but detracts somewhat too. 1h 54m 5.87 miles.clivevilla14/02/2023

Roadside parking where PW intersects Snake Pass (SK 0880 9290). Featherbed Top first then regained PW and stayed on it all the way to here. A miserable flagged path with cloud firmly down on the hill. But last English Dewey south of Northumberland.jonglew23/11/2021

Walking the first section of the Pennine Way from Edale to Hadfield with detours for hill tops and trig points. Scorching hot day and got rather burnt. Bagged Mill Hill before carrying on towards Snake Pass and the endless walk across the moor.MysteriousSue15/07/2021
Bagged on route whilst completing my 3 Peak challenge. 35km bagging Black Hill, Bleaklow and Kinderdazedemon10/07/2021
Joined the Pennine Way at Upper Booth and passed several hundred Duke of Edinburgh Award kids struggling up Jacob's Ladder under heavy packs and a strong sun. We bagged Kinder Scout, the Sandy Hays trig and Mill Hill before heading down to Hayfield for a well earned pint at the Sportsman. The way back involved crossing the River Kinder just opposite the pub and getting onto the Pennine Bridleway up to Mount Famine and South Head before heading NE to Brown Knoll. A fine pavement next took us down Golborne and across the Chapel Gate ROW back to the car park between Barber Booth and Upper Booth. Great walk ... 7.5 hrs including a 45 minute pub stop.summitter01/07/2021

Plenty of roadside parking where PW crosses A57 (SK 087 928). Along PW to approx SK 084 921, then E over moor to Featherbed Top. Back to PW and along the paved route to cairn at track junction at summit of Mill Hill. 10km with only 120m ascent in 2 hours. (S)silveracorn_alan22/06/2020
Relatively good summit surrounded by hills. Sat down for a bit and enjoyed the peace.Wycombe Wanderer14/06/2020
12.7 mile circular from layby on A624, followed footpaths onto Cown Edge, walked along the edge then headed for Knarrs (very easy to bag with no walls/fences in the way), descended to road then followed path to Kinder Reservoir, climbed steeply up onto Sandy Hays, then went to the downfall which was completely dry, turned back up to The Edge trig point then across dry moors, descending Kinder and onto Mill Hill (4th time bagged), then headed back to the layby via Mill Hill plane wreck and Harry Hut trig. Clear and sunny but hot, plenty of people about, good views north to the South Pennines, Pendle Hill and you could just make out Ingleborough on the horizon, views west over Manchester and towards the Clwydians in Wales.DanTrig02/06/2020

Evening ascent from the Snake Pass, up over Mill Hill, up along the edge to Kinder Downfall. Followed the stream onto the plateau and up to the flat summit of Kinder Scout. Cut direct back to the edge near Kinder Low, and then retracing my steps to Kinder Downfall and Mill Hill, returning to the Snake Pass well after after sunset. Beautiful evening if a little windy. Route approximately 20Km.VirtualMountain13/05/2015
Nice windy afternoon out on the paved path from Snake Pass - left the path for Featherbed Top then down to Mill Hill, before turning back over the road and heading off across the peat to Higher Shelf Stones. Decided to leave Bleaklow Head for a day when I have time to get across to Alport Moor too :) Caution needed when leaving toward the west - it's on a bit of a blind crest and the layby is angled away from the road, anyone going much above the limit (and there are a few!) will struggle to slow down for youthe_adam30/03/2015
